Do not recommend if you are in any post secondary or college credit plus programs, she tended to talk down to the high school students in our class, possibly seeing them as unprepared for our class. Does not follow syllabus. Final was mostly extended response. Have knowledge of old English literature since that is a big focus in the class.

This class was very difficult only if you did not read the book or attend class. Everything on the test was covered in either a handout or discussion. She is extremely helpful and loves when you participate and ask questions. Does require a lot of reading since it was a sort of literature class.

I think she's a wonderful teacher. She's hard on her students, but that's what profs do! If you can't handle harder English classes, then you don't need to be in ANY class she teaches. Sink or swim, it's your choice. It's up to YOU whether you pass or not. Don't blame this amazing prof for YOUR shortcomings.

She can come off as being a braggart but that comes from her life experiences. She will try to make the students write about something they are not familiar/comfortable with to better your writing skills. This is not a cake class. To get the best grade your writing should show that you listened to her point of view in class. Good luck.

Kasbekar is very tough, but provides plenty of feedback (plus, you get to revise your first essay AFTER she reviews it). Pay attention to her comments and it's an A. Do the work and ask questions and the class may be enjoyable. The class wrote about controversial topics, that made it kinda fun. We had some intense discussions.

Dr. Kasbekar is one of those Professors that is a genius and expects her students to be also. Ok, maybe it isn't that bad, but she does expect that you give it 100%, if not more. She put a whole new spin to Hamlet, and made me love it even more than I did

Dr Kasbekar made our English/Literature class very interesting. She is definitely for women's rights and is a feminist. I think this just adds to her energy/enthusiasm.
