Comment:
Bruce and Diane are very knowledgeable about the film industry and the films they show. Easy A class- all you have to do is write a 3 page (double spaced) paper analyzing each film that you watch. Good way to see a variety of movies that you wouldn't usually watch for free.

Oddly enough, I would not say Bruce really teaches. The class is at a movie theater, and he gives information about the film (which will be helpful for papers) before and after the film, and the audience participates in discussion. the TA is the one who actually reads the papers and grades. The current one is leaving and she was awesome.

Biggest jerk ever. Was the more arrogant professor I have ever met and was just rude. Could not stand the guy.

I enjoyed his and Diane Christian Buffalo Film Seminars, but the interaction with the professors was all through their TA. After class discussion was either insightful or frustrating. It's great to involve community members, but it really limited student discussion in a way.

Comment:
Take the film class; all you have to do is write 1 easy short paper for each film. No exams or quizzes or finals! Some of the films go over the class time, but that's not bad considering how little work he and Christian are asking for. Discussions can be good, too, if you're interested.

Great potential as a class, but it's brought down by one person who insists on speaking the entire time and puts other people down. I come out more frustrated every week because the learning process is ruined by this person and the professor who lets this student talk, or insists that she talk.

Very interesting, his classes were taught well, and he pushed his students, but not too much.
