I was the teacher's assistant for Calvin Boardman in 2004. He's awesome! I graded every single paper that year for his intro to business class, Foundations of Business Thought (BUS 1050). Here's a tip: make the answers to questions in your essay papers organized and easy to find. Repeat the questions, and bullet point your answers if you have to.

This was my first college class, and at 7:30 am >_< Boardman is fair but strict. Do the readings. It's a variety of interesting stuff, but be prepared to write lots of reflection pieces.

Cal was great. He's very intelligent, challenging and you can tell he loves teaching. Do the readings and attend every class. I learned a lot from this class and I would recommend it even though I didn't end up going into business. If you like discussion oriented classes and learning the philosophical aspects of business take Professor Boardman.

He's an alright professor. He definitely has his favorites in the class. Make sure you do all of the readings and take notes for them all. Study groups are only helpful if your classmates care about getting a good grade. Some of the test questions aren't even taught, which is ridiculous. I'm glad I won't be taking another class from him,to be honest

Cal is a stud. I'd take another class from him if I didn't have to be a graduate to do it. I HIGHLY reccommend his class, even if you end up not going into business. You get to read plato, socrates, confucious, all the good ones. If you're thinking about it, DO IT! oh ya, and always make an appointment with him after you get the test back :D

Calvin Boardman is by far the best professor I've had yet. He's effectively made the class interesting and has intrigued me to further my studies in Business. His tests aren't easy, yet they aren't terribly hard. He doesn't give out study guides for them, though. My advice: Do ALL the reading. Keep up with it. He will clarify it for you in class.

Easiest class ever if you read and then go to class to have him explain what you read. I read almost all the readings and studied the night before the tests and got an A-. There are a few papers, but if you understand what your writing about they are too bad.

He's a very strict teacher, (I got a C, yet I deserved it,) I took foundations of Business. He makes the class SUPER FUN and Interesting. IF you want a good grade YOU must work for it. Also, if you let him know you are interested in the class he'll do everything that he can to help you! Extremely fair!, GREAT TEACHER!

Proffessor Boardman is a great teacher. I read every assignment, and took very good notes. When you do that and study for the test you will be fine. I thought I was going to get a B but I ended up with an A. I liked his class a lot and learned a ton of great stuff.

Very tough class, but you learn a lot. Boardman is an upstanding guy; I had a difficulty with my scholarship and he wrote a letter of support which, in my mind, let me keep the scholarship. If you put your part in, he'll help you out as far as he can.

I thought that this class, even though hard, was very influential. Best advice: Read, underline, re-read before tests, ask questions, and participate. This class, if done right, will be a great experience if you do the above. And though an older man, very good looking.

I took this class back in '98 when I first transfered to the U. To this day Boardman is one of the finest professors I had in college. You have to work, you have to think, but you will learn. Of all the countless profs I had in college, he ranks in the top 3.

Prof. Boardman is one of the best professors I've ever had at the University. He makes class an engaging experience, involving everyone in the discussion. The text is unique and interesting, too. It's clear this prof. cares about and enjoys teaching, which can be hard to find!
