Reeve is quite possibly one of the most intelligent men alive. He is just bursting with information. He doesn't really care if you speak or not because he loves to be able to just share what he thinks and why. Do your readings, it'll help immensely. He only gives 2 grades a semester & no exams, so you'll need to do well but he wont let you fail.

Reeve is brilliant. Like super smart. He can teach you everything there is to know about Aristotle if you read and pay attention. He grades harshly and the papers are monstrous

Comment:
Reeve thinks that he knows everything about everything. He tells some funny and intellectual jokes and I enjoyed his profanity, but as far as actually teaching things you need to know for the papers, he is super unproductive.

Comment:
Reeve is a great, clear professor who really knows what he's talking about. He is pretty intimidating though, so if you don't have a good TA, your questions may not get answered. He very clearly outlines the readings so you don't really have to read the books, but the exams are not easy at all, unless you're pretty good at philosophy already.

Reeve is a joy to listen to and he really knows his stuff (and is quite aware that he knows it). Readings can generally be skipped if you attend lecture, but they can help to understand the material. This class can be a challenge if you don't think the way Reeve does, but if you do you're golden

Best class and professor ever. It's tough if you aren't philosophically-minded. This class changed my minor to philosophy.

Reeve is a great professor and a captivating lecturer. Lots of reading is assigned, but it is not essential as long as you attend the lectures. Your grade is based off 3 five page papers which are graded by TAs, so try to select a good one.

Great at simply laying out major problems. Enjoyable lectures that were well delivered. Many mostly well-chosen assigned readings in this course. I am sure his other classes are more difficult--PHIL 112 (sometimes taught by others) is an introductory/overview course. He knows his Greek! And he can rattle off extensive quotes from various texts!

If you think it's fun or entertaining to mock religion (especially Christianity), take the class. I could barely get through many of the lectures and some of the readings because they were so derisive. I'm able to think critically about my beliefs in an academic way, but the tone of this class felt snarky and childish to me.

Honestly, THE BEST professors I've had here. If you don't like reading or are closed minded you probably won't enjoy the class. If you are willing to challenge yourself some then you will GAIN SO MUCH. I could sit and listen to him lecture all day. Don't go into the class looking for a grade, look for an experience and the grade will come.

He is awesome. Reeve brings in humour, and at the same time makes the students understand the coursework. The ease of the class varies greatly by your TA, so be careful there!

Reeve is a genius. Given the choice, I would spend every waking moment of my life in this man's shadow. He's completely off in his own world and if you can't handle that, you'll hate him. Don't expect to have a relationship with him other than basking in his presence from afar. This is definitely my favorite class this semester.

This course is awesome, but the papers are tough. TA's can be a pain, but they make your grade. Go to them for paper help, and you will be fine.

easy class- the reading is good but if you don't want to do it just go to class and recitation. lecture is funny and interesting. papers can be frustrating because there's not much room for your own ideas/interpretation. if you listen in lecture and write what reeve said or what your ta thinks then your grade will be fine. overall an easy A

class is good, lectures are pretty interesting. a LOT of reading that can be avoided for the most part if you listen in lecture and recitation. if you have any views contrary to the professor/TA be prepared to change them or get a poor grade. papers were graded very harshly, some TAs dont even give As, final was easy.
