Very amusing lectures and in depth knowledge of subject. Oddly, he uses kinda funny hamster clips in his class and lecture presentations. Loves rocks and teaches you a ton if you pay attention.

I took his freshman seminar class. He was a laid back teacher, was pretty nice and chill about almost everything. He really wants everyone to do well, so he encourages you to go to the tutors and makes the tests almost identical to the practice tests. But the only bad thing is his lectures are really boring.

He is an alright professor. The first two weeks are interesting then after that you just watch his homemade powerpoints every single day for hours and hours! test are easy and the review quizzes are identical to the actually quizzes

Comment:

Prof Merguerian is great. His sense of humor manages to keep the class interesting. The exams are SIMPLE. just put the time in to do your review packet, check your work with his, and study from that. He usues 90% of the same questions. If you get a bad grade from Merguerian you are probably just lazy. Take him if you need that pesky science over !

not the nicest person and a horrible teacher. lectures are long and sooooo boring and uncomprehendable. easy class though. gives you a review test with most of the questions on the actual test. trips, 2 papers, midterm and final

I've had Prof. Merguerian for two geology classes and he is great. First off, he is nice and pretty hilarious. Second, he gives you practice exams to study from and uses around 90% of the same questions on the real exam. Third, he actually enjoys teaching. If you need to get science done, take Prof. Merguerian.

Prof. Merguerian already has so many good ratings so you get the idea. Definitely pay attention during his lectures though because he packs alot of information into them. Overall, he's a good teacher and a really nice guy! He cracks alot of jokes during class and he's actually funny hahaha. He's just a cool teacher. Anyone will like him.

wow definitely take this class, he gives you the review ques. which are the same as the test. just check your answers with his and you'll be fine. makes rocks interesting which is nearly impossible he tries his best to make it fun and a good time. loved his enthusiasm and good teaching skills take him you will not regret it

He is, as someone said, very passionate about rocks. He knows his stuff and he loves it. He's very helpful and very nice. Tests are easy, gives you review questions prior. There are only 3 tests, no homework.. just lecture. Easy class!

if u take the online tests you will do good b/c they are word for word the exact thing, answers in same order and all. just make sure u have the correct answers b/c he doesnt give them to u. lectures are boring but hes really smart and has a strange obsession with hamsters!

Guy really knows his stuff. Just back from a field trip and he is the bomb. Knows every rock in NYC. Study his online exams and you are ready to do quite well. Always there to help out. Take him - he's the best.

Great professor, i hate any type of science, but there were times where he made it a little interesting. He tells a bunch of corny jokes, but its cool. Prep for tests are ideal, so just do what he says, and you will pass. Always available for help. Highly recommended.
