No syllabus said everyone plagarized terrible unorganized teacher. Had a 3.5 GPA and he failed me with no reason even though I turned everything in. Didnt show up to meetings or answer my questions and said that my work was too good to be a 19 year olds as an excuse not to grade any of my papers. Went the entire semester with 1 paper graded

This professor is a isn't going to be easy on you, but he is worth his weight in gold. He makes you work for the grade but is willing to critique, guide, and inspire you to pass his course. He is exceptionally intelligent and his dry humor is a relief to have with his 8am class. His guidance produced an improved ability to write quality papers!

We dont have syllabus and have no idea about his email&office hour&office room. Just have grade of paper and dont tell u how to improve. A lot of reading assignments and have test about almost EVERY reading assignment. NOT NIce

He is the worst professor I have ever had. Very rude and tough grader. So unnecessary for a lower level English class. I can't decide if he stopped caring after tenure or if he is grumpy about working for a two year university. Never seems to be in a good mood and chooses the driest material. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

If you do the reading that he tells you to do and if you can write a decent paper without any grammar issues you will be fine. He gives eight or so pop quizzes which you'll score very well on if you do the homework that he tells you to. Sometimes he is a slow grader but he pushes back deadlines to make up for it. I also thought he was really funny.

Seems strict, but has a cynical sense of humor and makes class entertaining. Often lets class go early, pushes back deadlines for papers, and cancelled class 5 times this sem. Grading scale is v lenient, so 83+ is an A. Gives frequent quizzes on the assigned readings; they're an easy A if you do the reading. Can miss 2 weeks of classes w/o penalty

Really good professor. He gives you a clear idea of what you need to do to get an A. Beware the essays! If you procrastinate they can creep up on you fast. Even though he is a tough grader, the grading criteria are not the usual and getting a 70% is somewhere around a B. He sometimes assigns pop-quizzes on the readings he assigns. Gotta read em all

This is not going to be easy. Prof. Allen is a tough and clear grader. His lectures are not always the most helpful so you will have to do a lot of work outside of class. If you want to be a better writer, take Prof. Allen's course. If you want an easier grade, take someone else.

IF YOU TEND TO SKIP CLASSES, DO NOT TAKE A COURSE WITH THIS PROFESSOR. I missed a couple classes due to family emergencies/doctor appointments and showed up to class 5 minutes late only twice during the semester. When I emailed him with a question, he was rude and refused to assist me. I have always been respectful. He was not. Worst prof ever.0/10

Malcom is the worst prof. to ever come across. Hes not a bad guy, he is just not a good instructor. His class his terrible, he is a strict grader, and it seems he does not want his students to bother him. I don't know why he is even a prof. He graded my rough draft and said I needed to change one specific thing, so I did, and he marked it wrong.

Professor Allen is a funny guy. He has a quick wit and a very dry, but very funny sense of humor. His class is fairly interesting , once you get past the Oliver Twist readings. But , he is a rough grader , and unless you are above average with your writing technicals , an A on a paper is close to impossible, as he does not miss a thing.

Allen is educated and knows what he is talking about. However, if English is not your strongest classes, I would HIGHLY recommend NOT taking him. He is a very hard grader (coming from someone who consistently got A's in all previous English courses). He is also not very clear when it comes to requirements for papers. Make sure to show up, and READ!

Professor Allen is a very nice guy. He seems kind of intimidating at first, but he is really nice and understanding. He's a pretty funny guy so even though I don't really like English classes or writing much, I enjoyed his class. I didn't work too hard and ended up with a B- so it's nothing to really worry about.

Dreadful Class. I typically love English class. His class was cancelled, cut short, watched movies, read Oliver Twist and wasted time. I learned nothing. Grading was a little harsh, however his grading scale is set low. Ended with good grade, but left with NO new knowledge.

Malcom Allen is one of the best and most strict professors I've ever had. He is a very strict grader but he will help if asked and he has a marvelous sense of humor.
