Comment:

Do not expect him to understand any sort of question you ask him. You will have to repeat yourself 10 times for him to somewhat understand, and then he talks to you like your the idiot. I have never been more frustrated in a class. Also, don't expect to understand anything in his lecture, and says five different thoughts at the same time.

Comment:

VCT 4560 with Chuck Spontelli was one of the more interesting courses I have taken. The course material was new to me and kept me engaged, and Spontelli is challenging. The lectures are hard to pay attention to, as Spontelli often goes on tangents. The labs can be confusing, as the instructions and questions are sometimes not very clear.

Chuck can not focus on a thought so its extremely difficult to listen to him try to give a whole lecture. It was one of the most irritating classes I've taken so far.

I was really looking forward to this class. Taking 3090 has been absolutely brutal. Chuck has been on the same power point slide since week 2 of class. We have not learned anything new. Repeats himself constantly, and doesn't teach. Terrible with time management. We have 1 lab left and 4 projects yet to be completed. Awful teacher.

Kept asking me why there are holes in his belts. I told him, theyre belts, they have holes, thats where you latch them up through. The guy just didnt stop asking me though.

Chuck is a great guy and everything, but his extensive knowledge about the graphic communications industry will be a bit off-putting to students who aren't crazy about VCT. Personally, I'm a huge fan of his classes, and he's a really nice guy. Put bluntly, his classes are very difficult. Study regularly and show up 95% of the time or fail. Simple.

Spontelli is brilliant. Get to know him! His courses are hard, no doubt but completely worth it. Think of his course as an opportunity to prove yourself. Pay attention, ask questions. Spontelli is always more than willing to help out but you have to initiate extra help. Everything he ever taught me I have encountered as a professional. Cheers Chuck

Uses same exam year after year, so the material he doesn't get to he'll rush through the last day before the test just do he doesn't have to rewrite it. Rambles far too much, horrible teacher, can't write fair questions at all, has no idea what he's doing. Typical for BGSU. If you're a VCT major, get out. Don't trust your future to these idiots

An idiot, pure and simple. He rambles off topic and rarely even gets to the material he's supposed to be talking about, but that doesn't stop him from putting it on his exams! Labs make no sense, and he has a bad habit of making questions extremely ambigous. If he actually knew what he was doing, it'd be an easy class.

He knows what he's talking about. Nice guy but tough teacher. Kind of boring--maybe that's because I don't like print? Took summer class and had to spend 4+ hours w/ him a day--too much for me in one sitting.

Spontelli is an excellent teacher, but his exams are very hard. He is very willing to help you though and does an excellent job of reinforcing his lessons through lecture and lab classes.

Good teacher. Knows his stuff. Hard class though, but he tries to make it fun. He gets too much of a bad rap for having tough tests, but hes a good guy. He'll make you work though, so go to class.
