Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Wilson was my sole professor (out of six!) to become more lenient with their grading policies and to remain as helpful as possible! (This was especially notable on my final paper I had to write for this semester, which was a mess but received both hyper-specific feedback and a very strong grade.) Great professor!

Comment:

Dr. Wilson is a very intelligent human being, especially when it comes to being a theologian. However, there are times where I, along with anyone else who isn't necessarily religious, become very confused at some of the concepts discussed during class. It's tough to write 4 page essays on a topic we simply don't know anything about.

Okay, I'll go against the grain on this one. Prof. Wilson spoke in a language that my classmates and I could not understand. In addition, he was very biased against conservative Christianity and atheism. He must have some sort of ax to grind? Can't recommend, even if you have a theological background, much less if you just want your BTS-T.

Professor Wilson was really good but sometimes his grading criteria was confusing. He's a tough grader but the topics were quite interesting. He offers a lot of help outside of class and really wants to get to know all of his students. We had a lot of papers and reading. Be sure to participate and attend classes!

Charles or caw as he signs everything is an amazing religion prof. He has taught at Old main for so long and you can tell he loves his job. He grades a little hard but the class is generally pretty easy. Take for an easy A if youre willing to do some work with little reading!

As a science student, I never wanted to take a religion course. But his class was perfect. He is a tough grader and assigns a few papers, but overall he is a great teacher and very encapturing in every one of his lectures. Love this class, by far my favorite class I've taken here so far. Take him if you are willing to put in an ounce more effort.

I never dreaded going to Wilson's class. He is a very cool and knowledgeable professor. His class is heavily discussion and paper based, but the topics are always interesting. He grades tough and is very particular about what he wants in a paper. Overall, I would recommend.

Wilson is a super encouraging professor and loves meeting with students outside of class - he is VERY particular on writing and grades papers pretty harshly, but he enjoys when you go to his office hours to work on your writing skills. He definitely takes into account your improvement. Also, make sure to participate! Overall, challenging but great!

one of the best professors I have ever had the pleasure of learning from, as well as one of my favorites. He expects you to do the readings and be on top of things, but he also understands that school is stressful. Knows his stuff and is brilliant. Take a class with him if you can!

Professor Wilson is an amazing teacher for Jesus at the Movies! He is a fun loving prof passionate about the films we watch and makes bible readings fun to talk about. Make sure to participate at least once every class because it is a good portion of grade. Otherwise would recommend taking this class or any one of his classes.

Is extremely knowledgable. Has read everything there is to read about philosophy and theology. Readings are very hard and without the lectures they would have been impenetrable. A painful realization of the intellectual rigor of theology. Has an intimidating but kindly personality. In many ways reminiscent of Santa. Hands down the greatest prof.

Super hip for an older professor. Definitely knows his stuff. His first year religion class was a ton of work, but I finished with a good grade and a sense of accomplishment. Ask him to tell you stories about his days as a student at Saint Olaf! He has great stories!

Wilson is extraordinarily cool. He looks like Santa Claus. I'm willing to bet he can recite parts of the Bible in his sleep. He's a fan of football, kind of hip for his age, & no one comes close to how he teaches. Be sure to contribute to class and you should be off okay.

Wilson is awesome!!! His lectures are very entertaining and educational. It's almost impossible to get bored in his classes, I laughed a lot, and learned so much that I'm actually interested in theology now. He's such a cool guy.
