Comment:
Dr. Minor is a great prof, the class is just difficult if you dont put in effort. She lays out exactly whats expected, you just have to study on your own time to excel in this class. Attendance counts as bonus, but lectures are well worth your time. Tests are 70% of your grade, so even one bad grade is hard to recover from. Easy B, attainable A.

Comment:
Professor Minor is a solid choice for biol 1110. Her powerpoints are broad so it helps to attend class and read the online modules. She gives practice tests that are very similar to the real one. She also coordinates the labs so they line up pretty well. The course has interesting information and she is a solid choice.

If you want to learn Biology and develop a strong foundation, I would definitely recommend Professor Minor. She is not the easiest professor, thats for sure, but she really wants her students to succeed. She follows the syllabus, so the course is what you put into it. If you really put in the work to study, you'll most likely get an A or a B.

Minor is a very difficult professor but in a good way. She always makes it known what she wants us to know, she's very sweet when you ask her questions, and she's very understanding. I definitely recommend taking her if you want to legitimately learn the knowledge. However, you will have to put the work in!

Comment:
The notes and class material are great. Her lectures were enjoyable, but her honors class has a lot of extra homework. The grading on the honors assignments are very suggestive and it is extremely hard to improve on them from week to week. No rubric is given until after they are graded. Tests are unfair and pretty difficult.

Comment:
Dr. Minor is a solid choice for BIOL 1100. Her exam aren't common so what you learn in class is what will be on the exam. She does not always make her own test questions so the key often has many mistakes and no test is the same so you could have a harder exam than your classmates. This isn't fair but doesn't greatly impact overall class grade.

Professor Minor is a good teacher and she knows what she's talking about when it comes to biology. She makes students work for it and really believes in the "you get the grade you work for" quote. She is available outside class, by appointment. She is definitely a hard teacher, but if you want to know biology, she's a good choice.

Comment:
Dr. Minor is not for the faint of heart, however, it is entirely possible to get a high A in her class. You just need to show up, apply yourself, do the study guides wayyyyyy in advance, and read the textbook. It is not an easy class by any means, but it is just a lot of memorization. Just read memorize the study guide.

You can definitely tell that Minor cares about biology. She gave pretty good explanations in class. I bought the online textbook and only used it for homework, but everything on the test was covered in lectures or online notes. Presentations were all posted online, which was really helpful.

We used MyLab as our homework platform, and all of the answers can be found via google searches (or Chegg). She is an understanding lady who let our whole class do exam corrections for up to a whole letter grade increase when she does not usually do that. I benefitted from going to class, but you don't need to other than for attendance points.

She gives bonus points for showing up to lecture, and you're expected to do the homework on your own without being reminded. This course is not a common exam so whatever she covers in class is what is on your exams. Her final is not cumulative. Honestly, she's an amazing professor, so just take her class and show up. It's an easy A or B.

She was an enthusiastic teacher that made the subject interesting. I could've made an A without attending because I read the book and took my own notes (her lectures were REALLY fast paced). I did A LOT of reading, but it was overall an easy A. Tests come from an online test bank and she gives you a practice test that has some of same questions.

Professor Minor is funny and cares about the success of her students a lot. Her lectures are based on the book so if you skip class you can easily just read the textbook plus she makes good review for the tests. She also gave a few opportunities to get a better grade when test scores were low across the board.

Christine was an excellent professor! This was her first year teaching BIO 1110, but it seemed like she was a veteran! If the class doesn't do well on tests, she is generous with extra credit. There are many opportunities to succeed in this class! Also, I can't get over how kind Christine is! She truly loves biology and truly loves her students!

A very sweet lady. She really values learning over grades. That being said, all the material in her class is review from AP Bio. She has a ton of helpful tools to improve grades that are not offered in all classes, such as practice quizzes, a study guide, and an in class review session. Very good class for basic foundation of biology.
