There is a good bit of simple work, and it is easy to fall behind. Joel makes an effort to form connections with his students and tries to make class enjoyable and engaging for everyone. He spends the most time conveying the message behind plays and comparing to real-life current issues. Very enjoyable class with several life lessons.

Joel enjoys going off topic and trying to relate miserably. He's lost a few marbles throughout the years but his class was enjoyable. 3 Absences and he starts dropping points. Had to attend one play. Had to read about one play a week, pretty easy stuff for a theater major.

A lot of group projects. He's a really funny guy and loves a good laugh. He can veer off topic but he knows when its time to get back on track. A really good class for education majors because he makes the class focus around that. Its never boring enough for me to fall asleep (this is a major thing, lol).

I have taken senior level classes easier than this gen ed class. Tests make up 60% of your grade, but they are made up of only 30% of in class material. All of what you learn and can apply to life you don't need on tests, and vice versa. The tests come from the readings not the study guide or in class lectures.

Was not a painful class; he tended to go off on rants but was still enjoyable and funny. Does not really take attendance. Only two tests that he posts very specific helpful study guides for. Gives many straightforward quizzes that help buffer your grade. Would definitely recommend if you need to get a general education requirement out of the way!

Coming to class was pointless because he would just tell long, pointless stories and either make a sad attempt to relate it back to what we were supposed to be learning, or just give up and say "I have no idea where I was going with that." And at the end of every class, he'd tell us what we were supposed to be learning. He is a good person though.

Only HW that he assigns is readings so that was a plus, until I opened the book and found that the reading was 30+ pages!

Dr. Williams is a great guy who truly loves Theatre. You can tell he has a passion for what he does, mainly because he gets side tracked talking about it during class. Overall, the class is really easy if you do what is assigned and he gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. The only downfall is that he doesn't keep AsULearn updated.

As a technician, I loathed the idea of having to take an acting class, but Joel made it a lot of fun although he was very spacey at times. Even though it took him almost the entire semester to remember everyone's names, he recognized that the class was a mix of actors and non-actors and had helpful advice for each.

He is a great teacher. You can tell he loves the theatre and everything about it, I learned a lot this semester in my intro. to theatre class!! The only thing is his tests are from the book, which is not covered in class. But if you know your definitions from the book, an A should be an easy accomplishment!!

Joel's class was really fun. The tests were hard at times, but there are plenty of extra credit opportunities. The final exam is a group project. He is a really funny guy, and makes class fun. A little disorganized at times, but overall the class was good.

It was a pleasure to have Mr. Williams as a teacher. He is so funny and the sweetest professor. Though he can get a bit off topic at times, I learned a lot and really enjoyed his class. Do every single thing on the study guides he gives out and you'll do well on the tests. Also, attendance isn't mandatory, but extremely helps your grade.

lame lame lame. can't learn anything for his disorganization and lack of focus. it sucked. there were no real 'assignments' and you are graded on how much he likes you out of class
