Miller speaks very very fast and it was definitely hard to keep up. By the end of the quarter, my typing speed honestly improved. You need strong study skills to succeed but it's not impossible to get an A. His first exam was the hardest but trust me, it gets easier. He is responsive to emails. Use his TA as a resource, she was amazing!

Greatest professor I have had at UCD. Made a difficult course into an extremely funny and enjoyable one. When I took his class, he had an amazing curve. The mean final grade was 74% and his grade breakdown was A 84%; B 71%; C 54%; D 40%. Would definitely take him again.

This class is extremely difficult. Miller's lecture speed is incredibly fast, he almost comes across as mumbling. His lectures are extremely dense, but all of information is posted for reference, i.e. (podcasts +lecture slides). Class graded solely on 3 exams. They are tough. No practice questions, no study guides. Its easy to be unprepared.

Prof. Miller is easily the best instructor I've had in my entire life. His love for the subject, combined with his vast wealth of knowledge on viruses makes the class truly interesting. I would strongly recommend this class - or any others taught by Miller, for that matter - to anyone.

Dr. Miller could have been better. He has a monotone voice and talks really low. I best to sit near the front if you want to pay attention. He posts the slides and for his exams, remember all the little details and key words. I had some help for the exams and I got a B+. He does not curve, cause I checked my raw score, and it was the same.

Difficult class! Record his lecture and podcast at home to actually get a good grade! He says he curves but idk if he did cuz he never gave us a stat of grades and the curve. Exams are all written so no scantron! He looks for specific words and if u dont put them u get docked a couple of points! just know everything, the general idea and details!

Talks way too fast, mumbles and he has no interest whatsoever in helping students.Tests are the broad ideas but bombards us with details. there's an overwhelm amount of material you need to know. no office hour,no curve, no podcast.don't take this class if possible.

He's much more focused on research than teaching. He blew through the last two lectures (which had a heavy presence on the final) so he could leave class early and get to a conference. Study the lecture notes, not the book, and try not to get discouraged in lecture. If you can stay alert while he bombards you with info, tests shouldn't be too bad.

The trick to the class is not reading the book, but attending lecture & listening to the podcast & understanding the core concept. Test are not detail, but broad concept. Should study beforehand before going to review session. The TA's hint to you what you need to study & what will be on the test. There is a hugh curve. 88= A- 82=B+ 69=C+ varies

Way too much info thrown at you in this class. Definitely not the type of prof who wants a lot of students to get As - only the ones who try too hard. He talks WAY too fast and doesnt repeat himself unless asked to. Exams were tough and your grade was based only on 2 MTs and a final. Don't take this class unless you're really interested in virology

This class sucks!!! The teachers talk 100 miles/hour. They do not have official O.H. and if you do stay after class for ?'s, you get brushed off like you are an idiot. They could care less about the students, just about themselves. AVOID! unless you have prior virology experience.

This class is awesome! All three instructors were good lecturers, the material was interesting and they tested on the broad concepts rather than the minute details. Dr. Miller is funny during lectures, although sometimes he goes really fast, but there are podcasts to catch up with. Exams are fair; short answer/essay type. You'll really learn a lot!

I love the subject so this could be somewhat biased. This was a very easy class, you must memorize the notes, but don't even need to bother with the book unless you are interested. He was a good teacher, a little scattered but still got the info across. Class had 3 other lecturers all very good. I highly recommend this course.

One midterm and one final. Guess lecturers teach about half the classes.
