I took Shakespeare with him and it was very challenging. Sometimes he's not clear on his assignments. Seems like a chilled out guy but he's kind of a hard grader. Fun fact: he always goes to all the fine arts things -- student voice recitals, etc. That's kinda nice of him.

I took his Shakespeare class and I will tell you upfront: if you are not an english person or have no interest in Shakespeare, THIS CLASS IS NOT FOR YOU. I came from AP english courses and it still was difficult. My friends at U of M and MSU taking Shakespeare had it easier. That being said, I really enjoyed it and worked my butt off for an "A."

Chuck is a different kind of teacher. I did well with his class, but others did not. You have to put forth a good effort in order to get a decent grade in his class. DO NOT wait until the last minute to hand in papers/assignments even thought there really is no "due date"!

not good for someone who procrastinates because he doesn't really care when things are turned in. I don't believe he actually reads your summaries either. Spent an entire class period telling us who to vote for. Very strange guy.

He is a very nice guy; a bit scatterbrained, but super laid back; big hippy(haha). I personaly did not care for his methods of teaching, he was WAY to vague, bias, and yet threw out good points. However, I would not really recommend him because his expectations were very high. In other words, not that easy of an "A".

Insane but a great class. Chuck is all over the place but he makes good points and is interesting to learn from. Often shows the "modern" version movies of various plays to help students understand better. Very likeable.
