After looking at the "good" reviews for this professor, I realized, he is probably different when teaching sociology. For Core, however, he is confusing. He seems like a nice person, but as a teacher, I was continually frustrated with his lack of clear instruction. I WORKED SO HARD on my assignments but he always gave me a B/C on them.

I don't know what professor these other people studied under but ACB is god awful! Sure he's a nice guy, maybe even a smart guy, but he is a poor poor teacher. He spends far too much time talking about assignments and likes the sound of his own voice far too much to ever teach a seminar.

ACB is such a GREAT professor and mentor! He is always available for extra help - he also goes out of his way to learn his students names and say hi to them on campus. Take a class with him!!

Great prof., puts fourth a lot of effort, sweet, and funny. He has a few lecture styles that make it difficult for me to learn sometimes (using powerpoint to teach math, for instance) but he is extremely helpful if you get confused.

For a stats class, he makes it about as interesting and easy as possible. His tests are pretty simple, and the homework load isn't bad at all. Definately recomend taking him for stats (although I think he is the only one teaching it).

Cognard-Black is a very nice guy and I sort of feel pained for him because I could tell he loved his subject so much and yet so many people in the class didnt even bother to attend. In my class I had 4 non-cumulative tests and one 3-page paper you could do in one night, easy. He's kind, interested and sweet but this class will bore non-soc majors.
