He is awesome, you just have to get used to his teaching style. However he tells you everything you will ever need to know in class. He does not hide the ball you just have to pay attention. He may be intimidating in class but he's the nicest outside of the classroom. He runs his class like a courtroom though so always come prepared!

I would take him semester if I had the chance. This guy is amazing. I appreciate a bit of verbal abuse in my education. He knows the law like the back of his hand. You better think about what you say before you say it because if you start rambling on you will quickly be humbled. Makes dry subjects very interesting. I can't wait to have him again.

He is what you expect a law professor to be. He expects you to be prepared and will make it known when you are not. He takes his courses seriously and expects his students to do the same.

He will roast you and you'll love him for it! Brilliant, amazing, and every student at GSU should have to take a course with him. Make sure you do your readings, although even if you do, he'll still make you feel and look like a moron. It's awesome!

Everyone is on call all the time in class, but it's a blast. One of the best in-class teachers at GSU Law. He's absolutely hysterical on top of it. My only problem was the exam - it felt NOTHING like what we did in class. Felt like a pure contracts exam.

This guy is awesome, definitely my favorite. Most students are too terrified to assert themselves in class or ask questions, but if you do he will have more respect for you. Just make sure you actually have something relevant or insightful to contribute or he will break you. If he knows you came to class unprepared, you will be publicly humiliated.

Professor Stephens is a necessity if you want to get some real classroom involvement. He's terrifying in the classroom and will put you on the hot seat for fun. Read the book closely and be prepared to get called on at any time. The class is by far the toughest you'll take experience-wise, but you'll know learn than you do in other classes.

Well, what can I say. Stephens is a tough persona in class, but I don't know of another law professor who can break down the law into such an easily understandable form.

You'll dred going to class, you'll read the readings intently and then be able to answer nothing. You'll look like an absolute buffoon. However, at the end of it all you will know the law and that's what important. So that's my review of the Stephen's experience, effective but absolutely terrifying. Everyone should have to take him.

He is the BEST teacher at GSU. It was a true "Paper Chase" experience except that he was willing to review tests and help you improve - if you asked for it. Anyone at GSU MUST take him for at least one class. BTW - he is no different as a Magistrate Judge - tough but fair.

If you want to be treated like a five year old, this is the prof for you. His goal isn't instruction, but demeaning his students so he can elevate himself. If you're an attractive female, however, he'll treat you differently.

Prof. Stephens course requires a significant amount of hard work and you risk getting embarrassed in front of the entire class if unprepared, but students will leave with a true masterty of the material. Classes are entertaining, to say the least...
