It's a shame David is retiring, but he is by far one of the best math teachers anyone can have. He has great stories to explain the topics. Makes the class fun and interesting. GO TO OFFICE HOURS and you'll be fine.

Great professor! Very helpful at office hours, sometimes spends too much time telling stories in class, but they are interesting. Definitely learned a lot about probability and would take a class with David in the future. Exams are challenging and homework takes a very long time to do, but if you read the book and go to office hours it is doable

Comment:

He's among the worst professors in the department. He only covered 40% of the book. Tests are hard. Course materials are easy, but he made me hate probability now. Exam problems are from the lectures, so go to the lectures, although he wastes 40% of lecture time complaining on the reduction in the math dept budget. Avoid him if you can.

Funny. Smart. Clear. Tried to speak a little French to the French guy in class. Good exercises. Wanted us to learn to write in the style of the mathetical literature. Learned a lot.
