If you're looking for a class and professor that you love, but do actually have to work hard for, highly recommend this combo. Love her, she's so sweet and very educated on the subject at hand. Left this class everyday with a lot of helpful information.

Comment:

Sensation and Perception class was quite difficult. Overwhelming amount of information. If you are not naturally gifted and smart this is not the class for you. You will need your textbook and attend class EVERY day. She is a very nice lady and knows what she is talking about but her test don't correlate with how she teaches. :/

This is the most awesome professor at USC Upstate. She will help you with any material, you just have to ask! Dr. Purdy is a one of the best professors to have in your corner, and truly a decent person. She has helped me grow and learn so much in the psychology field. If you have a chance to take one of her classes DO!

Great professor! I was really worried when she said this class would be not only psych, but also some biology and physics. But she made it a very smooth process and has a great way of teaching so that you understand everything very well. I really enjoyed this class and learned so much. Take her if you have the opportunity!

Dr. Purdy is an amazing teacher. She genuinely cares for her students who actually try to learn and ask for help when they need it. She cares not only academically but personally. I had an personal event take place last year where I lost a family member and she was more than accomodating to help me get through it and still perform academically.

I absolutely love Dr. Purdy!! I took her for Research and Methods Lab. She is an amazing teacher. Dr. Purdy is very helpful and is always available. I highly recommend her for this class. If you do the worksheets and get her to look over your papers you will have a an easy time with the class.

Great and crazy Canuck! She makes class a fun environment and encourages discussion. She will go over something until she thinks you have it right, and cares about you as a person. She is exceptional when it comes to getting you to learn, but she is a hard grader!

she says you do not need to attend class...LIE!! Don't take this class if there is anyway of getting out of it. The textbook is boring and she goes over one thing and class and will completely reword it on the test. Test is set up for you to fail 10 mul ch questions and 2 essay questions. The portfolio project is has unclear expectations.

One of the best professors in the state. I absolutely adore her and I can't thank her enough. Classes aren't hard, but they aren't easy (nothing worth doing is). You will feel proud of yourself if you really tried in her class.

The material that you must cover is complex and tough, but she breaks it down and really helps you to understand. No attendance policy, but I suggest you go! Her grading scale is Canada based, and it really helps you in the long run. I loved her class & she's a great professor! She's willing to help as much as she can! Take her if you can!

The content is hard but she helps you as much as she can, as long as you go to her. She is very fair with grading. Must work hard to get a good grade for her. Awesome teacher!
