Must use the book! He just reads off of the notes and posts them online so you don't need to go to class. His tests are hard and you need to study a lot. He is a nice guy and is willing to help, but there are better and easier professors than him. Take Zimmerman instead

Ramaker mostly reads from his powerpoints, as stated by other students. Exam grades usually average in the 60s but there is a nice curve. If you want an A in this course, you must study the book. I suggest doing all the odd problems at the end of each chapter and going through his past exams.

reads totally off the powerpoint- doesn't really teach. doesn't explain things well, you gotta read the book. Everyone i've talked to says hes the worst/hardest chem professor at GW. Tests are all Multiple Choice- but are taken from a cd of awkwardly worded problems.

Very enthusiastic and nice professor but the class is just plain hard. He goes through about 100 slides a lecture and assumes his students know a lot more going into the class than we do. Definitely don't take this class as you're first college science class or to fulfill a science GCR.

very nice/enthusiastic professor - tests are all multiple choice with higher weights for problems (no partial credit for these which is annoying). curve is pretty good.

Real nice and has a personality unlike most science profs. His lectures get pretty boring and are basically word for word from the text, so if you dont understand the text, good luck. Exams are pretty difficult, usually class averages in the 60's, but he does curve.

I loved this guy. He is a great teacher, very fair and enjoyable in class. Helpful outside class. Exams are multiple-choice. I went to most of the classes, but still did okay skipping some.

Enthusiastic about the class but lectures suck. He just reads from his notes and doesn't really explain much. His tests are all multiple choice with no partial credit

I love his enthusiasm for the subject. not an Easy A course. Tests are hard but he curves a lot depending on the class average. I have forgot everything about chemisty from high school but I was able to learn everything thorouhgly from him again. Nice Professor. Go to his Office Hours.

This class is very challenging, but that is to be expected, and Ramaker has an enthusiasm for his teaching and a great sense of humor which both make the class enjoyable. He has slides made up for every class so it is easy on notes. I would recommend this class but it isn't an easy A.

Professor not very clear, but willing to help (TAs are great). Class rather difficult - our test averages were around 50/60 percent. This is just one of those classes you're gonna have to make it through - good luck w/ lectures (they suck). Other professors seem to be better than Ramaker, though.

Ramaker teaches hard classes (P Chem, Quantum Mechanics) but his enthusiasm for the subjects and his ability to explain difficult topics make him an excellent professor.
