As far as lessons teachers go, Dr. Steffens is one of the best. Knows a LOT from orchestral to drum set, has a very chill attitude, is always pleasant to talk to, and teaches in a way that motivates YOU to push yourself. No ego whatsoever, and doesn't get really upset or frustrated at his students.

A really knowledgeable person. It's fairly obvious from the get-go that he cares greatly about each one of his students, and that he knows what he's talking about. Lessons and Percussion ensemble are really fun, but still educational. In addition he will go out of his way to help you, even on weekends or breaks.

Seriously, waiting three years to finally get him in 20th century is worth more than what I had to pay for the class! 20th century really helped make up for all of the other courses you take that you probably shouldn't have paid as much as you did. Why can't other teachers see his excellence and copy him? I just wish they could see that you can respect your teacher, admire him, actually like him as an individual and you will learn SO MUCH! and enjoy it! He really has helped to clarify so much for so many!
