DO NOT take a class with him.. avoid if possible! one of the worst i ever had. gives hours and hours of hw and its barely worth doing considering how much points its worth. tests are hard and lectures make no sense and he is rude a lot. i had a personal tutor and barely got a C. tutor even said his test questions werent mathematically possible

Very poor at explaining,talks to fast and makes many mistakes even during the notes which gets everyone confused! I was in math center 3 times a week and still struggled!

Worst Math teacher EVER! Seriously as soon as you read my review, switch for another instructor. He is rude, gets upset when you ask him questions, makes you feel like an idiot for asking him to clarify something or to explain it, and he doesn't even answer your question! He talks extremely fast, JUST DON'T TAKE HIM! WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!

May not be the best at explaining concepts but definitely not a harsh grader! You get out of this class what you are willing to put into it and his curve will help your grade. If you're willing to put in the time and effort into understanding the content, a B or A are very attainable in his class.

Not worth it to go to class; he basically regurgitates Beachy's book notes (but he takes attendance anyway!). Goes WAY too fast, but not sure it'd help if he slowed down. Grading is fair; homework is usually difficult (Beachy's study guide is helpful) but the tests are less daunting. Take anyone else, and ask Beachy for help if you need it.

Worst expereince I have ever had in my life and at Northern. He grades to hard, you cant learn in class. I was able to make it out of the class with the crazy curve he made. Oh yeah and the average for each test was around a 40 percent. DON'T TAKE HIM!!

This teacher teaches day to day as if it was a review session. He will explain everything in a complex way and then start/finish the problem in a matter of seconds. Horrible. He did let you correct your homework which help a lot. In his class a 58% is a C after the curve. no curve for a B or A

If you go to class, and pay attention, you can get a B. he gives about 30 extra credit points throughout the semester. i got an A on one exam, and C's on the last 2 and the final. because of EC and decent quiz/hwk grade, i got a B. best math teacher ive had out of 3 so far at NIU

Horrible professor, so boring. Notes on the overhead were USE LESS. Hard to copy down too. Only good thing about his class was if you showed up when not as many ppl did you would get extra credit. (I got about 15 pts after the class ended) HW & Quizzes are only worth 100 total, so it all depends on what u get on your exams. Final is worth 200!

Great teacher, really relaxed in class and open to any questions. You can tell he enjoys his job, which always helps students enjoy a class. I'd definitely recommend him. As long as you're willing to put forth the time on homework, your exam grades will reflect it. If I needed to continue with math, I would take his class again anytime.

Comment:

Great teacher, well prepared, and always willing to help. Provides study guides before exams and a review session one class before an exam. Know the practice exam material and the class shouldn't be a problem. Also offers LOADS of extra credit points so make sure you show up to class.

Comment:

Dave is a good teacher. Gives out study guides before exams, as long as you know everything on it, you will do good on exams. Funny guy. Reads off notes, so lectues can get kind of boring. Make sure to write down everything he presents - including vocabulary.
