Comment:

I had her for both Business Law and Employment Law in order to fulfill my legal certificate requirements at Terry. I am now in my 3rd year of law school and regularly look back at what a waste those two classes were. Business Law barely prepared me for Contracts 1L year, and Employment Law was just a seminar on cultural agility. Very caring though.

Definitely one of the most caring professors I've ever had! Her tests were kind of hard (very true/false heavy and dealt with small details in the lectures and book), but her lectures are amazing. I would recommend her for sure

Comment:

Dr. B-A is a sweet professor and very knowledgeable, however, maybe 30 min of the 1hr and 15 min class is spent going over the material. Attendance is mandatory and if you miss more than 2 days, she takes 3 points off your FINAL grade in the class. There are extra credit opportunities but it is very disorganized and causes lots of confusion.

Comment:

Literally the easiest class I've ever taken at UGA. Definitely interesting to learn about social issues, but if you're looking to actually learn about the law, opt for a different class. Dr. BA is definitely smart and lead great discussions, but if you think you'll get too fed up with a self-absorbed professor , take someone else.

Dr. BA has a lot of life experiences and it's cool to hear her speak on those, however I think as a professor she is just difficult to follow. Her lectures are all over the place, she randomly gets off topic for no reason. Personally, I like her as a person but not as a professor.

Gives so many opportunities for extra credit that are interesting and stuff you wouldn't usually go to. Tests can be tricky and easy to do poorly on if you don't throughly know the material (they're your only grades). You have to go to lectures or else serious points get taken and you should read the book in addition to her lecture notes

This is an easy Terry elective as long as you do all the work on time. If you're fine with a class with heavy busy work and strict attendance policy, take this class. There are no tests or final so if you show up and do the work you should be fine

Her class is hard, not going to lie. Unless you plan on going to law school or are really interested in law, you are going to have to study. She is an excellent lecturer but really puts her opinions and viewpoints down your throat all semester. Class is 3 tests, opportunity for up to six points on extra credit! Hard, but possible.

If you want to learn about the law DO NOT take this class. If you want to be woke, DO take this class. It's mostly just her talking about controversial topics, and, if you let yourself, you will learn a lot. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. She wrote it, and she makes dang sure you know that, but you don't even kinda need it.

Easiest class I've taken, show up to class and enjoy it. The material is super interesting. No tests, just one page papers every few weeks. Lots of extra credit opportunity available.

Overall enjoyed the course and material. However, I took this online and it seemed like the professor could care less. Her instructions were confusing and if you sent her an email attempting to clarify you were lucky to get a one word response. Not sure why the professor feels the need to teach if she could care less about her students.

Overall the class was enjoyable, Dr. BA is very intelligent and looks to challenge her students. The class consisted mainly of guest lecturers and weekly deliverables from 2 books. Interesting class but be warned, she is very lazy with grading. We have one class left and no one has a clue what their grade is/could be. Pretty easy MGMT elective.

Dr. BA is super sassy. She conducts class in a discussion based lecture so it feels a bit more like an english class. Participation is not necessary but attendance is. This is not a cut and dry class, you get out of it what you put in. Easy A though if you do the work.

I had a technical issue with our first test, I took this class online, and I was only able to submit 5 answers and ended with an 18% as my first test. She was extremely rude about the matter and did not care about my situation. I remained in the course and passed with my first C- somehow even though the tests are ridiculous. Do not recommend.

While some aspects of this class are easy and a great way to get points, the tests are impossible.. I have taken two tests in the class so far, feeling good about the material, then click submit to find that I have made a C on each test. The material seems straight forward, but it's Dr. BA's way of wording the questions that is extremely vague.

This class is unnecessarily difficult. There is a lot of easy supplemental work; however, the tests are ridiculous. To begin, they are ill-worded and do not contain many necessary details. At best most of the class would make Cs with the text in front of them! I have yet to hear of someone making above a B on a test. Tests seem easy. Do NOT take!

I don't even know where to start with this class. The tests are ill-written and contain material that she hasn't mentioned in the text or lectures. Most of the students make C's at best on all of the tests with the material in front of them! This class is unnecessarily difficult, and she clearly doesn't proofread her tests. DONT TAKE

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. She teaches it at 8am and has a strict attendance policy. You get one excused absence, every absence after that is 5 POINTS off your overall grade. There are zero tests. Assignments are easy, but she takes off major points for not turning them in. She assigns one quiz over material she barely teaches. Not worth taking class.

Dr. B-A is a fantastic teacher. She starts every class with a poem and really cares about her students, not just in relation to her class but in relation to their personal lives. Cares deeply about social issues, which is always a plus. Dedicated professor, gives fair exams. As long as you study and attend class you'll do fine in her class.
