Great knowledgeable professor. lectures are more of a discussion. She tries her best to stay on topic but one mention of current events would derail her entire lecture plan. doesn't use textbook, she provides all power points for study material. lots of random assignments but easy grader if you put in work.

Really great professor. Really passionate about government. I learned a lot from her assignments. They were a lot of work but worth it in the end. There's not many but they're intense. She's really encouraging, inspiring, and funny too. I'd write down things she'd say in my notebook because they were just so funny.

She is a great person, really funny; will definitely make you laugh...BUT i could've learned more about state and local government I am seriously bummed. Her tests are hard because you really have no idea what to study. And there are no class lectures just class rants about current events. This shouldv'e been classified as a hybrid course.

I like her as a person, but her class is so confusing. She rarely discusses class topics. Right now I have a great grade, but I studied really hard where 90% of what I studied wasn't on the test due to unclear lectures. She needs to be more organized because her class creates a lot of stress in my life(not because of grades) Its on what to study...

Awesome teacher. She is absolutely hilarious and going to class is a joy. Her exams are low stress and she is a very reasonable grader. Take her if you have the chance.

Bizarre class. Prof. McKay made it enjoyable, but the exams were weird: she never gave us back our first exam. Forget about contacting her out of class hours, because there's no guarantee of a reply. Three days before the final, she still had no clue what was going to be on it. The final essay assignment was terrible: three essays in 5 pages...huh?

I must say, she is a very likeable person. That being said, her teaching style leaves a lot to be desired. She is overhead-happy, while talking at the same time students are trying to copy the overheads. You don't know which is more important, and that is her FATAL FLAW. Very disorganised, and the exams only vaguely about what she taught. AVOID!

The class is very student oriented while she gives her very educated guidance. You will learn everything and nothing all in the same class. Her class has no structure, she NEVER uses the book, so it is important to find out exactly what she wants when it come to exams and papers. Other than that you really have to do NOTHING in order to fail.

I love her. My favorite professor this semester. She gets off topic a lot but she is hilarious. It's nearly impossible to do bad in her class. She works with you so you can get the grade you deserve. A lot of extra credit opportunities. Easy tests if you take notes in class. Two minor papers were the "hardest" thing about her class. Recommended!!

Wonderful, Fabulous, Amazing. Not by the book. Very helpful. Very thorough. Tells you EXACTLY what you need to know. Gives you PLENTY of time to do work and accomodates to you if you need more time. Cool, down to earth, funny, interesting, and smart. Makes me want to major in Political Science. HIGHLY recommend
