Comment:

When he asks if anybody has any questions, he waits about 2 seconds then continues. All students in my class complain about no help, being confused, and nothing making sense. The examples he has on reviews for exams are the same examples he used in previous lectures. Exams are biggest majority of the grade, pass the exams you will pass the class.

Comment:

I would would not recommend Prof Pearl. He graded the exams harshly, they were too long, and in my opinion too difficult. He would try to explain the concept for ten minutes then rush through the example, and that made things hard to understand. Avoid him if you can, but if you can't be prepared to study hard.

Dr. Pearl was ridiculously difficult. He was my lecturer. Silly me, thought that by choosing him as my lecturer that somehow it would be easier to understand. NOT...After midterm and final, I felt I did well and was shocked by my grade...hmmm...

I never saw the guy! The lecturer I had was so disinterested that she would sigh every few minutes. Dr. Pearl was supposed give us a review but the lecturer said he was out of town, again! The exams were hard and we didn't even cover the material in class-lecture or lab. The lab is a joke - and the person that taught that was so disinterested!

Dennis doesn't even teach this class. I've never seen him before in my life, and I'm sure if I was walking around, I wouldn't even be able to point him out. It's really quite sad. My lecturer is good, though. I would just like to see the person who handles my grades. So, if you like face-to-face contact with your professors, don't take this class.

He is genuinely interested in conveying the course information and gist. Lectures were interesting and helped for the most part. He is a statistics professor but uses that terminology sparingly. I would recommend the professor to anyone.

Granted I only saw him at lecture but I felt that if I did not understand something he would be helpful at his office hours. He seemed to care about the understanding of the material and seemed to want to keep the lectures as interesting as statistics could be.

Very boring stupid class, but go to class or you'll fall behind. Not hard at all, just annoying. It's pretty nice he hands out notes at the beginning of every class and you fill in stuff throughout lectures. If you miss a class, he brings them just to the next one

I really liked Dr. Pearl. He's pretty monotone, and the lectures were boring, but all the notes were online ahead of time and where the "fill in the blank" kind. The labs really helped and mt TA, sumayyah, was very informative.
