I would have rather taken the SAT again. I would've rather done mechanical work on a rocket ship, and I think that might have actually been easier too. TBH, this course is all "theory." These mythical gods are not proven and to need to memorize so much info given that fact is absolutely insane to me. This class makes absolutely no sense. BEWARE!!!!

Professor Christian is a very passionate, wonderful woman with a cool style. She lectures with a great deal of enthusiasm and has an abundance of knowledge of biblical texts off the top of her head. This class is graded on 2 quizzes and a paper, so KNOW the material and TRY. She wants you to make an effort, not be 100% correct all of the time.

Her exams are incredibly difficult. Theres one paper due and not any type of instruction on what she wants from you on it. The 3 lines of instruction she does give you aren't even what she wants. I followed her directions and was told I did it completely wrong and can't even read her handwriting to understand what was wrong about it.

Tests are ridiculously difficult, lectures are mind numbing, absurd amounts of reading, and a general bore to get through. Brutal. Horrendous. Dont take her classes unless you enjoy immense diffulty for no reason other than to be excessive.

For me, this class was horrible. Listening to Christian drone on and on for three hours was the worst way to end a Monday night. She was difficult to pay attention to and assigned WAY too much material to each unit just to have a 20 question test that wanted specifics. One of her units could've been an entire class.

Her personality is awesome. She very erudite and funny and her style rocks. On the other hand, she's taught these courses for about forty years and her lectures are mostly just rereading/summarizing the reading assignments. She assigns crazy amounts of reading too, like all of Dante's Divine Comedy in two weeks. I don't think anyone read it all.

She's a great and very entertaining person but, her lecture was just reading straight from the textbook except when she'd go off topic. She gives two exams with two attempts at each, regardless her exams are tough and expansive. Otherwise there's an 8-10 page paper due at the end which was on a myth of our choice.

She is amazing. Her class is not hard, but it does require a lot of work. She takes passion in the course she teaches and is extremely approachable. She goes off topic quite a bit, which usually isn't a bad thing. Her night lectures may be long, but definitely worth it because she's an absolute gem of a person. Her love for the course is amazing!

She is absolutely wonderful. Very passionate and knowledgeable. Not an easy class, but not that hard if you are trying. Review material before class, go to class and you'll be fine. I found her helpful and easy to approach. Might have been easier for me because I was very interested in the material.

Horrible teacher. I asked for help all of the time and she always referred me to her TAs which are worse than her. If you are looking to spend every day studying for her class, then I recommend her. If you have other important things to do, like eat, sleep, breath... don't take her class.

Diane Christian is a legend and I enjoy listening to her speak, no matter what the topic is on. I think she could have been a little more structured with the way she lectures, but on the whole, I thought she did a great job at making dull religious doctrine come to life.

Her lectures are filled with pictures unrelated to the ones you actually need to know. You should go to the lecture right before the quizzes and get the review sheet. Do NOT take this class for your English gen ed as it's too difficult. You have to memorize stupid facts about pictures, such as type of picture, date created, etc.

Great professor. Extremely friendly and approachable and will answer any question thoroughly. However, her class is 3 hours long on monday nights so that can be tough if you're not interested with mythology. Only grades come from 2 tests and a paper, and she offers a retake for each test. Just be very familiar with each myth

I had Dr Christian for the Bible as Literature this semester. I didn't expect much, but I was amazed by how much she knew, how dedicated she was, and how efficiently she was able to convey the info. Be prepared to do a LOT of reading, three to five hours per week! It's totally worth it, though!

Did not always go to class, but Diane met with me on a moments notice. She is a very helpful professor, and really wants students to succeed and get good grades. Everyone just has to earn their grades, however. And boy did she make me earn mine...

The class is easy only if you go and pay attention. Based on 3 ID "quizzes" on the texts and images(more like exams, worth 20% each) and a final 10 page film analysis paper where you have to draw in the texts from the entire course worth 40%. She tends to reuse exam q's from previous years, so if you had a friend who took it it's a lot easier
