Comment:

Very good teacher! He LOVES geography and knows every possible thing about the subject. Homeworks and tests are easy, no quizzes. Just take notes in class and read the chapters in the book and you will do great. Turn in every homework and study for tests. I will recomend him for geography/history courses.

Comment:

Took class Fall 2010. I will be taking him again. Good teacher..obviously loves geography. He is kinda weird sometimes but its so awkward its funny. Gives 10 HW assignments, they are not very hard. Tests arnt terrible, but you HAVE to study. The quiz's are all memory-based. Just put the effort in and you will pass no problem.

He's a great teacher but a little odd at times. Pay attention to the slideshows,they will reappear again in a test. His tests started out easy then got really hard. His lectures are a little off topic, but interesting. Makes you write a 12 page research paper :(

This professor seems to be nice, but if you question his teachings, he becomes irritated. His lectures are random. His tests are very hard and not much comes from the book or notes. Run for the hills, because if you ask why something is the way it is he will simply say, "I have a PHD and I can change my answers because of that!"

Not the greatest. Not very funny although he tries to be, and sometimes will put you to sleep. Attempts to be an unconventional teacher, but many times looses track with what he taught and what he hasn’t so expect the unexpected in exams and be ready for some repeating classes. Easy in class and on home work, but VERY strict with the grades.

Excellent Professor and Class. Built an interest in me for Middle East. Uses lots of media and activities to convey points. He has been all over the world and is always working on something cool, just ask him. My best ODU professor.

Interesting class on MEgeog. Pay attention to his slides!! Took via Teletechnet-keep up on your discussion board. TA last semester was useless. Tests and quizzes are returned in timely fashion. STUDY place names!! Really research country paper-lots of sources, old ones new ones **National Geographics****

The final probably sunk a lot of people's A's. He did not know that dates come from Iraq. Told me they did not. I had a box at home and they did indeed come from Iraq. In fact, it is a big market for dates. Overall though the class is not so bad overall. He is leftist. However, despite that the class is not too bad.

This class was pretty boring, but it was fairly easy. Dr. Z is a nice guy, and I thought he was very professional. Geography is just not my thing, but if you have to take the class, he's a good prof to have.

I don't understand how you can like this guy. Obvious Communist loyalties aside, he's a lazy jerk who slaps random grades on assignments without reading them...when he doesn't get his TA to do that for him. This is an easy course made moderately difficult because of his lack of professionalism.

He's an OK guy, but very boring. Lecture consists mostly of his own opinions and random facts that don't show up on tests. Buy the book and an atlas and study at home. Only attend lectures where he shows slides, and you'll breeze through this course.

He is by far the best professor I've ever had. He is informative and helpful. He knows what he is teaching and doesn't attempt to be arrogant or snobish. He is a fun teacher with a wealth of information.
