You have a quiz or test almost every class and the tests require a lot of memorization of dates and statistics. For the quizzes you need to read the chapter and the questions can be on anything from it. He isn't concerned with helping you get a good grade and is very sarcastic. He is nice but only if you don't take the sarcasm to heart.

A very funny/sarcastic man, don't take his jokes too seriously. Requires A LOT of memorizing, but he gives you all the notes so you know exactly what will be on the test. The quizzes are a different story, difficult but not too important. He really knows what he is talking about and has a lot of experience which makes him very knowledgeable.

He knows what he is talking about, tests are a lot to remember so STUDY. Chats A LOT in class about random stuff. Some assignments are hard but he'll give you the grade you deserve. I'd advise you to suck up a little it might help you.

Donovan is a funny guy, very chatty. He loves to gossip about everything and is very passionate about his work. He's quite knowledgeable and doesnt BS like many teachers. Tests/papers are hard though and you will need to work for a good grade. Stay on his good side though, he can hold a grudge. Try to get him as an advisor, he's a great help!!

Awesome guy! Will sit with you during his office hours and just tell you what you can do better. Not going to lie, his tests are awful but if you study you should do fine. Wish I could take more classes with him. If you can work him into your schedule, I highly recommend it!

Donovan was my Gateways professor and my advisor freshman year. Awesome guy. Cares about his students, is very in touch with young people (but is older than he looks), WILL NEVER STEER YOU WRONG, and is very honest. I've heard he's a tough teacher for a regular course, and as far as I know he no longer teaches Gateways, but he was a great advisor.

Out of all the professors I have had here at UT he is by far the best! By far the most interesting 4 hour class I have had. He lectures but knows when to stop and give us a break. He grades hard, but hey he admits it ahead of time so it's not like you're not warned. Spend a fair amount of time studying and you'll do fine
