Comment:

Not a very hard class, but make sure you contribute to class discussions. We had 8 books to read and I only read like two of them. She cares about you doing well, and go to office hours if you really want more feedback on your essays. The class is really hands on and discussion rather than just essays. Take this over the usual English classes!

Comment:

Probably the most boring class I have ever taken. No doubt, Dr. Wegener is very sweet, but she is very scatterbrained and goes off topic in every class. Essay topics are very vague, but if you ask her for help outside of class, she gives good advice for your paper. Overall, I would not recommend this class unless you want to bore yourself.

Dr. Wegener is a very sweet woman, however, her class was the most unorganized and frustrating thing I've ever experienced. Her assignments are extremely unclear, so I struggled with how to do any work for her. She often goes on tangents during class and never actually teaches ANYTHING, but attendance is mandatory. She grades based on her own ideas

Mrs. Wegener grades on how often you come to class and how engaged you are in class rather than how good your material actually is. If you go to (almost) every class, and seem engaged throughout the semester then you'll be fine. I was expecting an A- in this class and somehow she turned it into an A.

She's a nice lady, but very unorganized and scatterbrained. She rambles about the most random things and likes to read straight from Wikipedia articles. A positive however is that she is very open to letting you choose your projectspapers topics. But, she grades a little tough and tells you that you "should have said this or look deeper into this"

She's a sweet lady, but her class is unorganized. Sometimes she talks about the reading, sometimes she doesn't. Likes to google and read off articles to you, but it'll ever be on the test. Papers and projects were open, but also wasn't really clear on what she wanted. Said "write about whatever" but then said "you should've done this instead"

I LOVE Dr. Wegener because she's incredibly sweet and knowledgeable about her subject, but if you prefer your classes to be really structured, she is not the professor for you. She really does ramble about random stuff every day, which basically means you don't need to come to class to pass the tests as long as you read. Randomly takes attendance.

She will say for our papers she wants us to write on something that interests us and tell us to go for it on a topic, but then make comments that she doesn't care for that author or this and that at all. So it's really about writing something that interests her. And yes, she spends a majority of the class talking about completely irrelevant things

She likes to ramble so I never really know what is relevant to our discussion. Her voice goes very high pitched and she gets very excited about things easily. She likes to pull things up on the screen and read things off Wikipedia, which I can do on my own, so she's not "teaching" it. Kind of annoying.

Great lady and teacher. LOVES TO TALK and has no trouble talking for the whole class. Looks for discussion, but okay if there is none. Essay prompts are clear and have choices. Have a lot of time to work on essays. Grades quickly. Not too much into EMMA (thank god) and no textbook so that saved some $$$

Dr. Wegener is the sweetest woman ever. She has so many things to say during class that it causes two problems: 1. She gets distracted by another interesting thought, and cannot complete the first one, and 2. the students do not have time to participate in the discussion. It is very rare that more than three people can talk each class period.

Literally the most boring class of my life, but Dr. W is a very nice and interesting person with a cool accent. If you go to class, act interested/participate, and write decent papers, you'll do fine. I hardly read anything all semester and came out with a B+!

She's a great professor, but lectures are super boring. She tends to talk in circles and never really has a point. But she grades really easily and offers help when you ask for it!

Took multicultural with her.. her lectures are sooo boring but she grades fairly easy and in class quizzes are easy if you just read. She also lets you rewrite your papers if you aren't satisfied with your grade, but she doesn't give you too many points back.

Dr. Wegener is very interesting to listen to, but her grading can sometimes be very haphazard and confusing. She's an easy teacher though. Go to class because she gives out a lot of in-class journal assignments.

Dr. Wegener's class is an easy A. For the most part, she grades fairly but sometimes the grading on papers is subjective. Make sure you read all the poems and readings because there may be pop quizzes in class. Other than that she is extremely kind and personable but the class does get boring because all you do is listen to her talk.

Dr. Wegener is not a bad teacher at all. She grades pretty easily, and she takes the time to learn names. Go to class becuase she does in class pop quizzes/assignments. She takes note of who's in class. She loves to talk a lot so the class just sat and got on our computers the whole time.

As for the quality of teaching, she knows very much about the topic of American History, specifically in Women's studies. As for the class time, I often didn't attend because it was early, but every class was interesting if you payed attention. I'm sure she's as bored with 1102 as the rest of you, and so she often does strange topics.
