She doesn't do much in class and then hours after class is over, she emails you minimally 3 journal entries you have to write for next class (ex- responding to a certain topic or she assigns you something to read and you have to respond to it). She gets really angry if she sees you on your phone and if you don't participate enough.

She's like a grandma. Some stuff she makes you read isn't interesting for everyone, but she means well and is really, really nice. Her class is based almost entirely on journals and 3 essays if I remember. No exams, no finals. Do the essays and journals and you should get an A or B

I took Professor White for an introductory writing course, but I didn't learn anything about writing. She's a very nice person and cares about her students, but she doesn't teach much. If you're looking for an easy writing class where you talk about your feelings, this is the one to take. If you're looking to learn how to write, go somewhere else.

Had her for my Honors College Writing freshman year. She's a solid professor. I thought I was a good writer before taking this class, but I got my first essay back with so many marks. Over the course of the semester I became much better at writing , so she was really effective. She does tend to ramble a bit so be prepared for that.

She was the first English professor I had in college and her class was an amazing experience. My abilities and confidence as a writer increased dramatically within one semester. She gives constructive feedback and allows us to revise our essays. The in-class discussions on assigned readings were engaging and fun. I recommend taking her class!

Comment:

Professor White was the best professor to have during my first semester in college. She was always willing to help me out if I was having a problem with my reading or writing. She would often email me to ask if I thought it would be beneficial if she brought us snacks. If I could take another class with her I would do it in a heartbeat!

Professor White is such a great person. She really cares deeply for her students and it's clear by the way she acts. Papers can be revised as much as you want and there was no final or midterm. She assigns a good amount of readings/books but they're usually pretty interesting. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs to take an English course!

Professor White is the most sweetest professor at Willy P. She's so caring and always willing to help you. Basically all that's required is writing in your journal. Whenever you write papers which are only 1 page long, she lets you revise them as much as you want till you get an A. She's awesome, I would strongly recommend.

White is very nice and she will work with you with until you get the grade you want. only a few papers with many rewrites and no tests or quizzes. there is a lot of required reading and journal work but it is good material and manageable. i highly recommend her

Professor White is a sweetheart! She is extremely passionate about what she teaches. Very easy class. She wants everyone to get an A. Lets you revise essays. She knows your name and will call on you, so make sure to read the readings so you can participate. Definitely take her class! Easy A and you'll become a better writer.

Cares about your grade and gives you opprotunities to bring it up. Really sweet and understanding. She's usually 5-10 minutes late and let's you out 20 minutes early almost every class. Take her!

Had her for ENG1100 as part of an Honors cluster during my first semester and for ENG1500 (Honors Exp. in Lit) during my second semester. Very passionate for Literature, and I really learned a lot from her. Don't go to class without reading the assigned material though. Overall, she's such a phenomenal teacher as well as a pure sweetheart.
