Oh my gosh! So annoying, I couldn't learn anything from him, my Programming Logic teacher explained what he was saying a lot better and with more clarity than him. Also he pulls toys out of his stupid backpack to 'use as an example' I took his class twice and still am confused as to what the hell I didn't learn.

we should have had this professor in 2nd grade. His approach is hard to adapt to in one quarter, but if you've always wanted to take mathematics a little deeper then this is a good class. He teaches theorems and logic and tries to introduce you to (imo) math as an academic subject rather than a "you'll never use this except to make change" tool.

ahh doug.. strange guy. reminds me of a living dead, as if he just rose up the grave. a walking zombie.. something out of a silent horror movie. extremely unapproachable, and hard to understand.

DO NOT TAKE HIM SERIOUSLY! Professor DeStasio is on the craziest people i have ever seen. I took his class and the first day he came in with paint on his goodwill jacket and faded jeans. He went off on a subject and then grabbed a fake cat and talked about taking care of it. Weird guy. Stay away!

I have no idea why he has a job at the college. I've NEVER met a student who has anything positive to say about Doug. It's not that he's difficult (he's too easy), and it's not a matter of him being fair or unfair: he leaves the students with no frame of reference for the next higher math class. If you take his class, you won't learn mathematics.

Don't go into his class with preconceived notions about the way math should be taught and you'll do great. Roll with it and enjoy being before a master of his craft. He's very accessible for questions. One of the best instructors I've ever had.

Doug has his own way of teaching, I wouldn't recommend the class if you generally struggle with math. He is a nice guy, but he doesn't teach the subject with much clarity. Its so hard to follow!! You'll basically do good in class if you memorize whatever he gives you. I wouldn't say I learned much.

I say Doug is a really good teacher, he is concerned with math theory and it is very helpful in the long run. It prepared me well for math 126, 205, and 238. I suggest the people who rate him badly just don't have it in them to really learn the material. Get with the program!!!

Doug is a very smart teacher, but he uses his own names for Mathematical terms that confuse students a lot, like Cookie Monster, or Dogs and Vampires..etc... He is just trying to make Math more fun, however, it really confuse the students. We had to learn by heart all the definitions and theorems in the handouts he gives us, its so hard to folllow!

Doug is insane. He clearly is an abstract teacher and dwindles everyone in class. I got an A in calculus last year, but took Precalc for credits, and im doing HORRIBLE. does not teach concrete math skills. Does not really relate to calculus. Do not ask questions, he will merely ridicule you. Does not even know students names. DO NOT TAKE HIM EVER!!
