People say this class is "hard", but it's no harder than any other college class. It's just "hard" for a science credit. He assigns a lot of busy work, but you can google all the answers. As long as you do all the busy work and do alright on the midtermsfinals, you should get an A

Comment:
Midterms are impossible, averages were 65 and 69. Final is same exact questions as midterm so meet with him to review. I got lucky with this class and got a B+ but most people got Cs. Avoid this class if you can, it is super boring even though the material is interesting

Skelton is a nice guy, but not the best teacher. He only reads off of power points and reading the textbook is useless. The midterm averages for my class were 65 and 69, and its a department rule not to scale. Good news is that the final had the same exact questions from the midterms, so if you take this class review the midterms with him

Hilarious and super nice guy! Does everything in his power to help students succeed. The material is very dense and difficult. More confusing math and equations caused my downfall in this class. MUST READ TEXTBOOK for the pop quizzes before every class!!! He covers topics VERY quickly so ask him to slow down and he will. Great guy.

Skelton is a little hard of hearing, but he really cares about his students succeeding and doing well. He offers extra credit, flexible office hours, and generous review sessions. He is also willing to change classroom procedure based upon popular opinion, and is very interested in the subject matter. Not a perfect class, but pretty good for a GPAC

Comment:
Professor Skelton is a genuinely nice Professor who clearly cares about his students. However, his PowerPoints are not well-developed, the exams are difficult (even if you study from the textbook), and the homework is very unhelpful. I would not recommend this class to anyone who wants a good GPA!!

He is a great guy, the subject we're learning about is super interesting, but if you just want a science you can get a good grade in, don't take-- its hard! And he goes fast, but If you value interesting knowledge that you can take with you for the rest of your life without worrying about the grade, you should take this class.

Skelton is an awesome guy and knows a lot about Astronomy but is a terrible teacher. He reads power points really fast. no time for questions. Tests are really hard class avg was like 67% after two tests. Avoid this class if you like your gpa. find another science. AVOID!

Prof. Skelton was a great professor. The subject matter was a little dense, esp since I was not a physics/astro type person to begin with, but he made it so that anyone with an understanding of algebra & understanding of physics could enjoy the class. If he still offers ec DO IT! He was always willing to talk to me about HW even out of offc hrs.

He is a wonderful guy, and if you are looking for answers to the homework, go to his class. But the tests are not relative at all to his lectures.

lectures quickly become confusing and frustrating. prepare to spend time reading the book and learning material on your own. but there is light at the end of the tunnel: the lon-capa club of perfection! if you have no idea what that means, then you don't know what you're missing!

This is one of the most irritating professors ever. He has barely looked at the textbook and designs his lectures around another text. The RxShows and crazy powerpoints do nothing but confuse. He goes too fast in the example problems and doesn't explain a thing. Fortunately, tests are simple, so its an easy A, but could easier w/o skelton

Do all the lon capa. Do well on the quizzes. Do all the extra credit, should give you enough padding for the killer final and you should be able to pull of an A.

Skelton looks Santa Claus, and he really goes out of his way to make sure you do well. There are many components to the class, with weekly online problem sets, warmups before class, etc., but it is not too bad. Skelton himself clearly loves his subject but sometimes goes too fast and over our heads. Overall a great professor and course.

His lectures seem a bit rushed since there is so much material to cover in one semester; he oftens doesn't fully explain things, so you are expected to go through the book. However, his power points are clear, and he is enthusiastic about the subject material. I enjoyed this class immensely.
