She's the easiest GE professor I've had here! Make sure to do all the study questions she posts before the midterm and final, and you're set to get an A, since most (<75%) of the exam is questions pulled right from her study questions.

Comment:

Jasieniuk is one of the best professors at UC Davis. She posts all lectures slides online before the lectures, so attendance isn't mandatory, even though you probably should drop in a couple times during the quarter. Her midterm (she only has 1!) and final were taken straight from the study guide questions she posted in advance

Comment:

Jasienuk was lovely! The class was graded from two papers, a conservatory visit, a midterm, and the final. Midterm and final were directly off of the study guides she provided. Her lectures are easy to understand and she cares about her students.

Prof. Jasieniuk is the best GE prof I've had! Her class is very easy as long as you are able to complete the study guide questions she provides before the midterm and final. Everything covered on the midterm is presented on her slides, and she posts the slides, so attendance is only mandatory like 2 days. Very understanding and nice! Take PLS12!

Comment:

Jasieniuk is an AMAZING teacher. This class is what made me switch into Plant Sciences. She clearly is very passionate about the topics that she is teaching and makes a 9AM fun! The lectures are relevant to the real world, as it is a plants and society class, and I always felt like it was worth going to class. She also posts the lectures online.

She speaks softly and eradicately, is unclear, dull, and says 'um' all the time like she's not confident it what she's teaching. Luckily the class has 2 other professors sharing lecture time, otherwise I would drop. Maybe she would be better in a smaller classroom but the has little control in a big lecture hall.

Very clear and easy. Spend alot of time reiterating topics to make sure everyone understand them. She is often boring and drones on, but overall she was clear and helpful.

Had Dr. J for PLB 170 which is now ENH 150 and will soon become PLS something. She is an excellent instructor, really taking the time to explain all the complicated genetics in understandable terms. The class doesn't require a lot of background, and if you pay attention, you're sure to do well with Dr. J.

Professor J. is one of the most caring professors I've met during my first year here. Though plant bio isn't the most rousing of subjects, she sparks my interest through her own enthusiasm in the course, and her genuinely honest way of trying to get her students to understand and be interested in the material. I'm glad she finally found this site.
