Elena was an extremely inspiring and caring prof. She was always more than willing to support me after class ended or within her office hours. She always makes interesting connections to the real world and research. Class is very fair if you are actually willing to put in the work, as any class should be. Take her.

Funny lectures, exams are 50% what she says in class. The other 50% are from assigned readings which are relatively easy, and an autobiography of your choice. I never even read the book and managed to get full marks. Group projects, you meet outside of class, often a nice break from regular lectures, and easy marks but i was assigned lazy partners

13 assigned articles to read instead of textbook, 4 group meetings and 2 wrriten assignment- seemed very horrible yet if you attend the lecture and write down word to word what she says & read articles, you get an easy A. I never put an effort for this course and did minimal work, yet it was still fine. Elena def made lecture intersesting as well.

Her syllabus seemed like there was a ton of work to do, but it really wasnt. The readings were never long and reading quizzes were an easy A. You only met with a group 4 times and it was like a review for the written part of the midterm. You cant just rely on her ppt because they dont have all the information on them. She was a great prof

2 assignments, 13 readings w/ 5 question quizzes, 4 group meetings w/ self evals, 3 non-cumulative midterms (no final). honestly, don't learn much in class and then on the midterms get tested on things you'd consider not important. makes an easy course super confusing but she's a nice person, just not the best teacher. also write everything she say

Couple assignments and the course was fine but her midterms are made of short answer and multiple choice and there are way too many readings. The readings are on tests and most of them are long and boring, there's about 13. But overall, no textbook which is good and she's generally a good teacher but get ready to read and she's a tough marker.

So far in this class is a struggle, she gives many articles that are 20 pages long and does not explain or go over the important material. Her written questions she wants a specific answer and even if what you write down is right well you're out of luck. TAKE A DIFFERENT PROF

Extremely boring, each lecture is just her saying "ummm" and rambling, causing you to have learned nothing and have no clue what to study. Tested heavily on 20 page research articles that aren't gone over it class, which are also convoluted and lack definite answers. If you love arts psych, maybe this is for you. Otherwise, pick another prof PLEASE

Dr. Nic organizes course so that the student has multiple opportunities to succeed from almost bare minimum effort and participation that is actually enjoyable and not difficult/ awkward. Subject matter is super interesting as she is very knowledgeable & pulls from many relevant studies to keep class entertaining. Super kind & encourages questions.

I really enjoyed Elenas class, and she gave us so many opportunities to succeed: 2 easy assignments, 4 group discussions that help you prepare for SA questions in the exams, 3 midterms and no final, and easy online quizzes on the assigned article readings. Her exams were very fair and her lectures were easy to follow. She is also really kind!

There is no textbook for this class, so going to class is manatory if you want to pass. She gives a lot of information during lectures so make sure you are writing it down as most of the powerpoints are pretty simple. She tests pretty fair, and there is no final for this class just three mid terms that are not cumlative.

Elena is a really caring and knowledgeable prof but her lectures are really dry. She doesn't use textbook but makes you read really old research papers and there are group meetings which are complete waste of your time. Her exams and assignments are pretty straight forward if you study.

Elena is a super nice person, just not the best prof. Instrustions for group work was vague and confusing. No textbook but you are required to read a lot of research papers. The lecture content was not what I expected for this course either. I would recommend taking this course with a different prof, wish I did.

Honestly, she was awful. Knew her stuff, but her exams were based half on lectures and half on articles that took forever to read. Assignments were long, and useless. You're way better off taking this class with a different prof or even just going online and looking at articles, just as we did in class...

Midterm short answer questions are short and vague. If you don't have exactly what she wants you fail. She has extremely erratic lectures. You do an extreme amount of group work for 2% of your grade. Quizzes on every article you read for a total of 3%. Overall I would rather drop the class and retake it than continue on with her as the professor.

VERY unclear instructions for assignments and expects way too much for a 300-level class. Too many group projects. No structure to the class. I am considering dropping the course even though I am interested in child development because the prof is not good at all and makes me DREAD class.

very enthusiastic and approachable, also really nice. will go and find relevant research to answer your questions, which i found admirable. articles instead of textbook; some are dry but overall interesting enough. word choices in exams sometimes bit weird but fair. TA is v. nice but slow marker. pretty easy - minimal effort can get you at least b+

Loved her so much. She was so enthusiastic about the material and made it interesting. Her assignments weren't hard and were easy grade boosters. I thought she was pretty clear about what would be on the exams, and she didn't try to trick you. Definitely would recommend!
