He's internationally known and is considered at the top of his field--just look him up. Very rigorous course work and the exams (while open book and open note), are not as easy as they seem because you actually have to know and understand the material. I would definitely take him again. He's quite a character while lecturing.

Lennox Hinds is the most intelligent man I've ever personally known and it shows by his teachings. He'll assign a ton of case studies and reading assignments but be sure to mark where in the book they're at because it's open-book exams and you'll need that page number. Overall, great but tough professor.

Hinds is a brilliant man and an awesome professor. Don't get scared if he calls you out during lecture, he's just fooling around and does it to everyone. 2 open book exams and a 20pg paper. As long as you go to class and do the readings you'll be fine. It's totally worth it if looking to work in the Criminal Justice field.

Greatest professor I've had at Rutgers. He is so knowledgeable, teaches with passion, and has so much personal experience in his field. One exam 50% & one 20pg paper 50%. He allows you to take an optional final exam in case you want to replace the 1st exam grade and will take the higher grade. Open book exam (but know where to find material)

Professor Hinds was the best teacher I have ever had. It is a difficult course, with a lot of required case reviews, with 2 open book exams and a final paper, but he presents everything well. Highly recommend him if interested in law.

Professor Hinds.. He was hand down THE BEST professor I had in my years at RU. I had him for criminal law and it was not easy by any means. It was manageable though. Don't let the final paper intimidate you because it was not that bad. I did it the night before and got a B (not that I recommend that) Challenge yourself and take a class with him.

Awesome professor. Determined to teach the students how to approach the law. Tough midterm in Criminal Law: Theory & Practice, but he added a few points after I talked it over with him in office hours. Get a head start on the paper, read the cases, work hard, & learn from a brilliant man. A true college professor.

Prof. Hinds was probably the best professor I've had so far at Rutgers. Not easy by any means, but his demeanor in the class room and the way he presented the material really encouraged learning by the students. He made it interesting and is a brilliant guy. I think he said he's retiring soon, but if you're taking CJ at Rutgers you gotta take him.

From the review it looks like Prof. Hinds hasnt changed in 20 yrs. I took all his classes and he was tough, fair and brilliant. Still look at things with a "jaundiced eye" because of his teaching. My #1 rated professor of all time. If you get the opportunity - challenge yourself and take his classes.

Buy the book because you are going to need it. Open book exams and 20 page paper. I was worried about the paper but ended up getting an A. Must come to class, I didn't really read that much but I found the case briefs online. I wish I have read more to actually learn more than I did. I think he's great, never lost a case. Learn from him.

Awesome professor, really smart, and if you ask he will tell you he has been in the international law field forever, and his resume is incredibly impressive. Read the material or he will embarrass you in front of everyone. That being said, go to class and read and you'll be fine. Exams are tough but open book. 20 page paper, not so bad overall.

Professor Hinds is a very intelligent man. His classes were fun, and he knows what he is talking about. I learned a lot about the law and I agree the hardest part of his class was the final paper that ranged between 20 to 25 pages. Finding information for his papers are hard. His test were all open book, his class was not hard, it was fun!

The class is very entertaining. He keeps his lectures going if you don't know. He drills information into you so that you remember. The only downfall about the class is the PAPER 20pages. Footnotes are required. The test is simple if you attend class and pay attention. You can get an A or B pending your paper and test.

The material is a little dry, and the 25 page paper wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. He is a great professor, extremely intelligent, and has a sense of humor. Don't let the paper scare you, it's a decent class overall
