Comment:

Margot was great at first, and the course was really easy online. But as the material grew harder, she was no help whatsoever. Didn't give feedback, the workload increased heavily. She even emailed us one morning and told us she mixed up the midterm dates and that it was that day instead of the week after and wanted us to show up anyway. I'd avoid.

I am having so much in this class. She doesn't write anything out that is useful at all. We had a sub for 4 weeks and that was when I learnt the most because he had notes! If you are a visual learner or require notes to learn, do not take this class! She even asked me if I was dyslexic because my spelling is so bad. Not something you ask a student!

She's an incredible prof, very funny and helpful. Her classes are informal but still informative. I highly recommend her for French, most fun I had in school all year was in her classes.

To the point, witty and determined to teach you what you need to know. Margot is a good prof, but be prepared to work hard. She does not take kindly to slacking. If you attend all classes and work steadily your french will improve and you should do well. I really liked Margot's teaching style.

Gives you everything you need to know before assessments. Kind, passionate, helpful. Probably speaks a little too much english in class, but in hindsight it's the 1st part of the 1x17 courses. No complaints whatsoever. I learned A LOT of french from her. Thank-you Margot.

She is not good at explaining the instructions. Her handwriting is not neat. If you get something wrong, you will be singled out. Too bad she was the only teacher who taught this semester. I would've enjoyed french a lot more if another teacher taught this class.

she had good days & bad days. sometimes class was fun, & sometimes terrible. she has weird mood swings throughout the day. so if you ever take her class make sure you're in her first section! and she doesn't post when her classes are cancelled which was a huge drag since i live far from langara. but i wouldn't mind her again.

I absolutely love Margot Maclaren. I've had her for the last two semesters and I wouldn't consider taking anyone else! She's extremely helpful and passionate about teaching and on top of that she engages her students in a fun/entertaining way. She wants her students to do well and understand the language. Take her class and you will not regret it.

She is really really nice. She is very helpful during office hours and in class as well. Her tests are easy and she tries to be funny and exciting. Her classes are not boring but it is usually in the morning. She marks fair and you have to hand in a workbook sheet once in a while. It's easy to get good grades with her. She's so nice.

SHE IS INTELLIGENT, FUNNY AND A GOOD TEACHER. HOWEVER, THE CLASS IS NO WALK IN THE PARK. BE SURE TO KEEP UP TO DATE WITH THE LESSONS. DO THE HOMEWORK AND ATTEND CLASS. she was horrible! she would get mad at people if they did not understand and was asking questions. She would almost yell at people who were trying to answer a question but was stumbling and just going a little slow. And worst of all anyone who did bad on a test she would make faces and tell them that they infront of the whole class.

She is the nicest, most helpful and the most understanding teacher I have ever had after highschool. Attending classes helps alot however if you skip a few classes just follow the outline and study the text. It's easy to end up with a high grade in her clas.

She is a very entertaining lady and wants everyone in her class to learn and do well. She is pretty harsh about homework (given every day) and calls on people randomly. Multimedia entertainment with music and short films. Her tests are hard if you don't know your stuff well (dictation, translation, short essay...) but she is a good teacher.

I haven't spoken spanish in two years. Though she is prone to being rushed, she knows and loves her stuff, and will help you all she can. I find the class hard because I have forgotten a lot. But I know that with a helpful teach like this senora, I will make it. With plently of homework of course, ;D
