Comment:
Absolutely horrible gives no partial credit on 2 question exams, luckily he only has a 4 week section in phgy 311, but he damages your entire semester grade during those 4 weeks, unneccesarily. Power trips on making questions hard and feeling smart.

Horrible prof, seems to take pleasure in making questions unreasonably hard, and gives no partial credit for 2 questions exams

Comment:
Boring, disorganized lectures, full of himself, unreasonably tough grader with no clear grading scheme, makes 311 much harder and more confusing than it has to be. Overall one of the worst PHGY profs but almost impossible to avoid.

Comment:
Good because stays after class to answer questions. But terrible as an prof, because he doesn't prepare you well at all for the final exam. Especially because as the main examiner of the final exam, he made all the other prof's questions much harder. I loved the fact that this was a calculation based class, but Cooper was the only thing I disliked

I thought Cooper was great! He goes through the material at a good pace and repeats key concepts many times. The tricky part though is being able to apply them in his involved quiz/exam questions (which are long and require thorough understanding). His 3 qs out of 11 took me half the 3hrs on the final to finish. Never wrote so quickly in my life...

Comment:
Dr. Cooper is an excellent professor. He's very clear and although he expects you to think during the exam, his questions are quite manageable. This course requires a particular way of thinking that most PHGY majors aren't used to, but if you can get that down, you're golden, and Prof. Cooper's section can really help you do that.

Great lecturer: great pace for taking notes and goes over key concepts again and again. Toughest final exam question. PHGY311 requires understanding; for e.g. you need to know which channels the Steady-State inactivation curve refers to ("voltage gated Na channels at the axon hillock, measured at resting membrane potential" NOT just "Na channels")

Disregard everything else written about PHGY 311. Class average has been a C+/B- because people do not keep up. Cooper is one of the best profs in PHGY, and he teaches this class well. This class is unfortunately a math-heavy class, and will need you to have problem-solving skills

He is not a good teacher at all. His final exam questions are very hard. This class probably has the most failures in the school.

Great teacher and nice guy if you go see him at his office. By far the best teacher in 311, but can make some difficult test question. Definately expects you to think!

Lectures a bit on the easy side, and so are his exams. As an advisor for the minor in neuroscience he was really cool and took a lot of time to advise me well.

His lectures were extremely repetitive and monotonous, but not too difficult. Know the underlying concepts and equations and you should be all right. Even though it's physio, he tends to ask mathematical problems so you need to be comfortable with handling equations. Do his practice problems.

311: he and cohen may just help you pass, especially if farookhi's got you down for the count. 451: interesting, don't expect a simple test.

His teaching is really clear and he goes over things time and time again. But as a person, he is the biggest a** h***! He has absolutely no respect for students and couldnt care less about you. Extremely unpersonable and his questions are rediculous.

His lectures are deceivingly easy. His tests are not as you might think. However, he's a godsend compared to Farookhi (one of the other profs teaching PHGY311A).
