I took psych stats with her and loved it! People told me how awful that class was but I disagree. Or maybe you just have to take it with the right professor! Highly recommend

Comment:

The homework was to much! She expects you to do SPSS online assignment plus the hand written assignments which are separate. Also she gets off track easily. She waits and waits till someone participates and thats how she wastes time. Also her grading is kinda weird.

Unfortunately she is not available during her office hours, like she says she is, so asking for help is not an option. She gets angry and annoyed when students may not understand the material and makes rude comments. She also tells her students in the hour and twenty minute classes they cannot use the bathroom because it "distracts her".

Comment:

She gives good feedback too. This prof is amazing shes funny kind and a fantastic teacher. She tells great stories, she actually makes research methods fun and interesting. Shes hot too. I thought id hate this class but I love it. Her work isn't hard and there's not that much of it, but it's useful stuff. Hope I get her next semester again!

Comment:

Professor Soltano is one of the best professors I have ever had. She has the best syllabus and is very clear about what she expects in her grading rubrics. Cognitive psychology was one of the harder classes I've taken but if you put in all the work and ask her for extra help you can definitely get an A.

I have taken Dr. Soltano for 3 courses. She is by far, the best professor I have had. She is extremely clear on her assignments and her expectations. She is easy to talk to if there is an issue or if you have any questions. I would HIGHLY recommend taking classes with her.

She is very clear with requirements. Her powerpoint are easy to follow and exams are based on her lectures. She doesn't post powerpoints online so I definitely recommend going to class and taking notes. If you study and review your notes before exams they are not that hard. Overall, a great professor and will help you a lot.

After having taken and failed PS275 - not once, but TWICE - due to my own negligence, Dr. Soltano changed everything that I'd come to know about Stats. While attendance isn't taken, everything essential to pass this class is in her lectures and power-points. Highly witty and fun, she never fails to make an inherently difficult class enjoyable!

Absolutely love her! She does give a lot of work and it can be a lot but the class is not meant to be an easy A after all. Her tests are difficult but it's because she gives open notes and open book tests. Just pay attention in class, take good notes and do your homework and you should be all set. Take her if you have the chance!!!!!!

Amazing professor! Very clear at what she expects from you. Will help you and give great feedback on assignments. She wants you to do well but you do need to show up and do the work. The most organized professor and you will know the first day of class when everything will be due and what will be covered each day.

Dr. Soltano is hands down my favorite prof. at WSU! She is so sweet and fun. She expects quality work from her students but she will help you through anything if you just ask. She is very funny and relatable. I have taken her twice and have loved her class both times.

Knows her stuff but her tests are very difficult and she overloads you with work that even if it was your only class it'd still be hard to get it all done. She can be strict with certain things and tough on grading. Not an easy A and you have to work for it but she does give good handouts and examples. Take notes since she doesn't post powerpoints!

She definitely knows what she's teaching and gives a lot of examples with what she's teaching, but her tests are very hard especially since it's applying what you know so be prepared to study and put in a lot of work for this class. Kinda tough on grading but still not too bad. I wouldn't take her again, but I am learning.

If your two minutes late for class she stares at you and makes you feel bad for being late, even if it's one time. Professor Soltano rambles for the entire class, goes off topic, and points out many times if everyone isn't answering her question. Doesn't clarify assignments well, just hands them out and expects perfectionist's.

Dr. Soltano is a great professor! She really teaches you how to apply what you learn in class, so yea, her tests can be tough. Application of the material gives a deeper understanding than just regurgitating it, though, and her class is a good tough. I got an A, but I had to work for it. It's totally worth taking her, she knows her stuff.

Took cog psych online with her. Horrible class. For the 1st few weeks we didn't get any assignments back because she was away with no internet access (mind you, it is only a 6 week class)...not very clear. has high expectations from us but has made a huge number of mistakes on the course website and on the syllabus, leaving us confused.

Dr.Soltano was great! She uses a lot of real life examples and 'games' to get her point across. She also uses several videos off of YouTube for every chapter. She talks about her family and gets to know her students. Her tests are hard because she expects you to apply what you learned rather than repeat it back. Overall a great teacher!

She is very nice and funny. Teaches material well, but tests were very hard. I am an A student, but could never get above a C on her exams. Thankfully, she let us correct our mistakes for half credit. Not much homework, but have to put in a lot of study time!

Out of all the professors I've had, Dr. Soltano is the one I feel knows me the most. That's because she takes the time to get to know her students individually - she's definitely not one of those professors who doesn't bother to interact with the class or get to know the students' names. Plus, she's just a GREAT teacher with a lovable personality.

I had her for Psych Stats. She is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is very helpful, the tests are hard but open book and open notes. I was dreading this class but she made it bearable. Make sure you do all of your homework assignments and go to class.
