Comment:

Professor is nice but her accent is very heavy and it is hard to understand her. She uses very blurry power-point slides and writes on the slides but you can't read her handwriting. The homework assignments are worded completely different than the lesson taught. There are also MANY typos on the homework and tests so read carefully.

Comment:

Very hard to understand due to accent. Doesnt respond timely to emails. Syllabus states she will drop lowest two homework assignment grades and will replace with highest, but end of the semester, she refuses to do it. She lies A LOT!

Comment:

80 % of your grade comes from your tests and quizzes are worth 20% of your final grade. The class consistes of four test and 20 quizzes. The good thing is that professor Deng does offer extra credit discussions. The tests and quizzes are very hard but if you read the textbook you should be okay. Also you cant find anything on quizlet!

Comment:

Dr Deng was an amazing professor! I took the class at the graduate level & although hard, Dr Deng really tried to help out her students. The only downside is her use of old PowerPoints that are sometimes too long & slightly confusing (took online), but she was always quick to clarify any questions I had. Would definitely recommend!

I am not good at math, and Social Stats was especially hard. The material is hard, but the tests are open note, and you can use your homework. Dr. Deng genuinely wants you to pass her class. So as long as you ask questions, show up and take notes you should be fine!

Took this class ONLINE and made a B. It's very easy to do well in this class. She has video lectures that are VERY helpful, three tests, and 13 assignments. Didn't really use the book. I definitely recommend Dr. Deng!

Dr deng class was hard but she will give extra credit.I'm not good in math and the tests were open book, if you come to class and write your notes you will pass the class. I would take her again, yes she has an accent but she writes on the board and 90 of the time you can understand what she says

Social Statistics. Material semi hard. I wasnt good at math but made very high A's on all tests. Just go to class listen, learn, ask for help if needed. The tests are open book. So easy, just follow your hw or notes step by step!

Dr. Deng takes serious her responsibility to teach Statistics. She always has an open-door policy and welcomes any questions and assistance needed. The textbook is really not needed so take good class notes and complete all homework assignments - exam questions come from homework examples. I highly recommend her.

its hard to understand her at times, and she knows how to get an attitude, but if you have a basic concept of statistics or algebra you will be okay. the textbook is not needed just the notebook you buy at the beg. of the semester but do your homework and thats pretty much the test.

Social stats. Class is so easy. Test are open notes and you have 2 hrs with typically 5 questions! DONT BUY THE BOOK (you wont need it. not even for homework)! There should be no reason why someone didn't pass her class even if math isnt their best subject. I took a stats class prior to this, so this was an easy A! Accent is not a problem.

I do not suggest that anyone take her. She is very had to understand because of her accent. The test questions are different than what she covers in the "lecture" (its not a lecture she just reads of a sloppy power point) only part i liked about the class is when a girl fell down the stairs. (she was alright)... i dropped the class in the end.

definitely do not suggest her. from day one i knew i was not going to enjoy the class. couldnt understand a word she said. the tests had questions not covered in class. best part about the class was when a girl fell down the stairs.

Really easy professor. She gives extra credit for each test and each test is on a 110 point scale. Her accent is pretty thick, but since she puts all the notes online there is no reason to listen anyway. The test review sheets are just about useless, but all it takes to pass the tests is to go over the notes.

She has a thick accent, but if you buy her little notes booklet you should do fine. I didnt apply myself near as hard in her class as I do all my others and still made a B. It is pretty monotonous and boring. Her tests come straight from her notes and she gives a review.

she does have a thick chineese accent but here stories are funny. she has you buy a book seperatly so you can follow along. she's very honest and as ling as you go and do the test reviews you are guarenteed a "B"

She has a think accent, but when you buy her note booklet, you get all the information you need and she gives you a study guide for each test. She also has about 2-3 videos for each test, which kinda kills the monotony of class.
