I took his first year seminar on butterflies and was under the impression that it would be easy but it ended up being my most demanding course. Kinda creepy to the girls and definitely picks favourites. He openly says his opinion is the only relevant and right one. pretty rad monarch shirt. never wears his shoes. obviously from USA.

Comment:

I really enjoyed this class. I learned so much from Gard, and I've never had a class where I've listened as intently as I did in this one. However, I will admit he is at times challenging to work with, as he has high expectations for a second year course about bees, is a very tough grader (expects lots of detail), and can be condescending.

He is a good teacher. He is hilarious. I enjoyed his class a lot. The only thing is he will give out mean comments when he is one on one with you just so that you are aware. He encourages you to ask questions but most of the time he cuts you off when you are middle of asking him something. His tests are hard if you don't pay attention in class.

Judges you phyiscally. If you're a girl, you'll get good marks and a lot of attention, if not, good luck. Talks badly behinds your back to other students. Makes continual sexual references in class that make some people uncomfortable, and tries to play ignorant. Spent 2 hours trying to multiply simple fractions to describe bee relatedness. Useless

Gard is a nice man but he can be moody which makes it difficult to approach him for help. The class was interesting but a little disorganized. He gives 'pop quizzes', which make class attendance mandatory (if you want to pass).

Gard brings hilarity and goodtimes to each and every class! May come off as eccentric, but don't be scared, he's a great man with lots of stories to tell, just ask him! Course material was great, easy to ace the class.

Gard Otis is NOT creepy or weird. He is a very intelligent and enthusiastic prof. He offers the class to come to talk him if you need help and is very nice. He even learns your name! It's amazing to have a teacher who is excited and passionate about his field. I would recommend to take any of his classes just to see what a great prof he is!

Comment:

Difficult class, but a very helpful, kind and considerate professor. His exmas are challenging. Sometimes I find he isn't always able to explain material properly. I think it's just because he in an expert with regards to bees, and he's teaching it at quite a basic level. As an arts student, I was extremely challenged in this course.
