One of the best profs in the psych department! He is very intelligent and has an extensive vocabulary, but he never makes you feel inferior. He truly cares about his students success, and tries his best to help them succeed. He gave very direct but helpful feedback on the rough draft of the large paper; which helped me turn a D paper into an A-.

He can be very arrogant at times and make you feel like garbage. Need to be assertive when dealing with him because if not, he won't respect your feelings at all.

Dr. Martin is great! I took this class off of a reference from a friend, and I am so glad that I did! Dr. Martin will sneak little jokes into his talks (Monty Python's his favorite). Have to pay attention during note taking. I enjoyed Sniffy reports, but they are time consuming. 8 quizzes (2 are dropped) and 3 non-cumulative tests.

It takes awhile to get used to Dr. Martin's teaching style and sense of humor. Subject matter can get kinda boring, but he relates things to real life. He explains concepts well and is always willing to clarify a confusing topic. A lot of people complain about the Sniffy reports, but they're not that bad. 3 tests and 8 pop quizzes.

Dr. Martin is amazing. Class is always interesting and although it's not always straightforward, he forces you to think about concepts independently and form your own ideas. Quite possibly the best professor I've ever had.

Just finished taking Abnormal Psych last week as a summer course. It was intense because I had to learn the entire DSM in 10 days but the class was very interesting and I gained a lot from it. It's an elective course, but if there's time I highly recommend it. Great for future careers in clinical psych, nursing, and psychiatry

The Learning course was a bit difficult in the beginning, but once you get use t Dr. Martin's teaching style it gets easier. I wouldn't suggest being lazy on the reading because everything is fair game for exams. However if you get stumped Dr Martin is always around to help. Helpful hint: Beware of Sniffy. He will purposefully make your life hell.

Dr. Martin is the best teacher I've ever had in my life. Abnormal is my second class with Dr. Martin and I hope to have another with him next semester. He is fun, funny, extremely smart, helpful, and interesting. At a school with very mediocre teachers, Dr. Martin is a breath of fresh air. I've never skipped his class unless I was sick. Great prof!

This ended up being one of my favorite classes ever, even though I'm not a psychology major. I must warn you it is not easy, but Martin makes it incredibly entertaining and fun. He is very organized with Powerpoints, and if you know the material on them, you will do alright on the tests. Tests are difficult multiple choice.

The class was extremely interesting and even tho he doesn't take attendance, I never skipped. The tests are all multiple choice but super difficult; you have to prepare for them alot but its a great class and you learn a lot.

This class is crazy hard becasue Martin is sooo much smarter than the entire class put together and everything goes right over my head because of his crazily extensive vocabulary. the class s just uncomprehendable, but what do I know... I have a "B" right now.
