Comment:
Very unorganized and gives pretentious feed back that doesn't help you grow. Course material is all over the place and it feels as though you don't know what you're doing half of the time. On several occasions she forgot to teach important course material needed for assignments only to realize much later. Avoid if you can.

Gillian Poulter is a gift from God. She's brilliant and knows so much, if you get to know her you will have no trouble in her class. She's honestly the most incredibly prof. I've taken all of her classes, she can make any topic interesting and fun. Lots of discussion too!

Overall she is a very good Prof. I do find though that she rushes through some of her power-points quite quickly making it very easy to miss important information that will more likely then no appear on the midterm or the final exam. She is very knowledgeable about the subjects she teaches and is very approachable.

I found that the class could have been more exciting but I believe professor Poulter is siilar to Whidden. She does much better on a smaller class scale where she can get to know the individual student and engage in one-on-one conversations to find their interests. She was very helpful for my essay and gives students a chance to improve.

GAH...If you like busy work then take her class. Lectures were extremely boring, lost interest halfway through the lectures. She expects too much on mid-terms given the time you have. Avoid unless you like hitting your head against the wall several times a week.

NOT a good class, and a mediocre professor. She has a bit of an attitude when approaching students, seems to look down at them. Class is terribly boring, she just reads directly from her power points and attempts to engage students aren't ususally successful. Seems too nice for how terrible her class is.

Poulter is an amazing prof, very approachable. She assigns a fair workload and is a fair marker. You have put effort into your work if you do you'll be fine. Her use of media and group projects makes the course very interesting!

Open to many different ideas for papers, and likes "non-traditional" sources such as television and music. Very nice and interested in the students, and tried to engage the class in discussion.

Can't say I'm her biggest fan... not by a stretch... but she is fairly approachable. Very picky with essays... too picky in my opinion.... write what she wants and you'll be fine. But she's smart, that's for sure. And generally quite nice.

Frustrating class. My fingers are on fire at the end of class. Accent makes it hard to catch dates, names.Tries to cram as much info into 1 hr. as possible. Does not engage students in discussion. Fair marker, gives test previews.
