I really did not like this class. His humor is boring, dry and distracting to the material. I didn't understand the material at all and he didn't explain it well. Didn't offer help to struggling students. Really hard subject!

Good things: he tells you exactly what the quizzes and exams will be on. Repeat over and over concepts so you easily understand them. Bad things: Tries to shave down your throat his political views in the classroom. He has chauvinistic tendencies and occasionally tries to poke fun and ridicule the students that he does not like.

He's one cool person. He makes it really entertaining and think about some things that you never thought would be interesting, like dropping a pencil. It's just a blast. His exams are straightforward and fair. He gives the question beforehand, i think by a week. He also gave us a couiple of make ups, i think 2.

After the first reading from our text, I had made up my mind that I would be taking the course pass/fail. I decided not to and realized that I wouldn't have to read the text if I came to class. Gordy gives his exam questions in advance and if you come to class, tells you the exact answers to these questions. Just come to class!! Great guy!

i only took his class as a requirement and I loved it. The exams are straight forward. He breaks down the readings to an understandable level and he is funny. He gives his own opionion but loves when you dissagree and doesnt mark you down for not having the same view as him. I totally recommend him. Oh and Im not PTK.

Fantastic teacher. Not because his tests are done by writing a few essays. No, it's because he doesn't take attendance and such! You can skip classes and arrive on test dates and, if you studied, pass them pretty easily. There are some days you have to be there for stuff, though. Yeah, Gordy is good. Gordy is Awesome.

He's a bad teacher, but even worse, he gives special treatment to PTK students (he advises the Honors Society). He was so bad that I'm re-taking this course with another professor. I got a good grade in his course, but didn't actually learn anything new -- whereas I'm learning in another professor's course.

Gordy is the BEST professor I had during my time at AR. He is absolutely a great teacher and very fair and friendly. I would recommend taking his classes to absolutely everyone.

Great teacher! He combines sense of humor and clear-cut explanations of complicated readings. He makes what could be a very dull class into an interesting one. Tests are just a few essay questions, which he explains everything you need to know before hand!

If you're a member of Phi Theta Kappa, you'll get a very good grade. If you're a member of Student Senate, you probably won't. Other students are worked into the ground but treated fairly. Very knowledgeable.
