Avoid taking this Professor at all costs. You will not learn anything in his class and you will have to do ALOT of self-studying cause you wont learn anything at all in the lectures. He does not write any notes and is extremely unorganized.

Absolutely horrendous. Made an account just to rate this guy and warn future students from taking his course. Assignments can ONLY be handed in on Friday ONLY IN CLASS before class starts. 5 minute late? Wednesday or Monday? not accepted. His powerpoints have absolutely nothing to do with his problem sets / exams. Lectures are useless.

Absolutely terrible prof. Highly disorganized and lecture slides arent even made by him so he has no idea whats on it. Fills lecture with "umm" and "uhh". Problem sets have no relation to lectures and he expects us to be on his level of knowledge without explaining high level concepts talked about in lecture slides. Can't learn anything.

Comment:

Ece 210 should be one of the most fundamental and easiest course for logic design. Just hoping Dr. Elliott could realize this and give us more explanation about the material. Oh and he said in the intro lecture that he will put very difficult questions in the midterm and final, wish me luck.

- super disorganized - incomprehensible - expects you to know everything - rude - picks on you for being 2 minutes late - labs are tedious and EXTREMELY time consuming - posts final exam for problem set, announces day its due that only #1 and 2 are required (ppl stayed up all night finishing the other 60%) - usually late to reply to emails

He's very easy-going, to the point where the class feels slack at times - but it works really well with the small class size. With the labs being the highlight of this course, he gives you enough to work with in the lecture to get the most out of your experience in the lab. Overall he's put together an excellent package for this class.

He know the stuff but you cannot understand what he says! Is it a question or answer of you question, you wonder what he said!! Late in giving back the reports and the mark. If you work with his students, you will get a good mark otherwise he gives you mark based on his feeling!! Tries to be fair but gives his research students the best marks!!

This guy can NOT teach!... he pretends to help students but tries to cover up his lack of knowledge by putting the students on the spot... acts like he is einstein reincarnate.. but is actually very stupid.. doe not put any effort into teaching.. NEVER take a class with him... unless u want to flunk out !

I took the advanced ASIC design. Although I am no expert on ASIC design, I can surmise, that there wasn't enough depth here, to qualify as being advanced ASIC. Rather the professor 'dabbled' on a few concepts, such as pipelining, skew etc. But overall, did not cohesively put the material together - to make it complete.

One of the smarter and talented professors (did a sabattical at MIT). His exams are tough - but he gives you plenty of practice material. You go into the real world, with the knowledge that you are armed with the knowledge from this guy - which frankly is alot. The project however, becomes a divide for capable and less capable students. RL

He simply could not teach. His lectures were boring and gave terrible notes. Once in a while he'd ask for student feedback about his performance but he'd never change. I had such high expectations for learning a lot from EE552 but I took away nothing

In a word "tool". He could not complete any thought he had (meaning he is always going on a tangent). He gives you no expectations, meaning that you will know what he wanted only after you have handed everything in. He provides no help.
