I have had this professor for the second time already and she's great. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY THE BOOK. I have taken two communication classes from her and both times I BS'd my way through and finished off both times with A's. Use common sense and you'll be good to go.

Comment:

One of the best professors I have ever taken. The class is quite a bit of work with quizzes every week and skill assignments about every other week. The skill assignments are short-answer assignments where the student applies what they have learned. They are lengthy, but they really help understand the content. Midterm and final are the same.

Doctor Murphy brings energy and light into her learning with her upbeat personality. You can just tell she cares about her students education. She understands life happens! She's willing to work with you in a reasonable manner. Loved her and her course, would absolutely recommend her to anyone.

An amazing nstructor! Definitely my favorite Communications teacher. The assignments are simple and she is wiling to help if anyone is confused or needs clarification. Her lectures are interesting and informative. Great class and great instructor!

Professor Heidi Murphy is so absolutely fantastic! Interpersonal Communication has to be one of the most relevant classes for almost every career field, and this is the woman to learn it best from. Her class sessions are fun and informative, and the assignments challenge you to grow personally. Wonderful class, brilliant teacher!

Heidi is a great teacher! She is very respectful and interested in her students opinions. She is also great at creating a fun and comfortable learning environment. Her class has helped me in life and in school. I am a little sad that I am going to UNM next semester because I would have loved the opportunity to take her for the rest of my COMM class

Heidi is a great teacher! I loved taking her, she gives you credit for showing up to class which is nice but the class was blackboard "enhanced" so most of our assignments were online as well as the Tests. The tests weren't to bad BUT, there were more based off reading the book, not her lecture. I would recommend her, Shes great!

This class taught me quite a lot about communication! It has helped me communicate better! Heidi is a helpful teacher, the exams are all online and the book is used 100% to succeed the class. You need to read the chapters before taking the exams! Their timed and hard to finish on time sometimes! She gives you two tries. For the papers I recommend to do them ahead of time and send the rough draft to Heidi. She corrects the errors and gives suggestions. Take her!

Heidi is a phenomenal professor. She provides plenty of time to get assignments done,provides clear directions, is open to and incredibly helpful with questions and clarifications. All points start at 0 so a failure is completely voluntary. If you apply yourself, it is not very hard to succeed in this course
