Comment:

Professor Marshall was the best professor I've taken at WPU. His class is not easy and there is a lot of work. But you learn so much valuable information in this class. I wasn't an English major but this was easily the most valuable class I've had to take. 10/10 recommend him.

Great Professor, he really knows how to teach English literary analysis. His lectures were great and the group activities were engaging. Very difficult grader and you have to work really hard in not getting a sub-par grade, but overall very awesome guy.

Took level 2000 class thinking it was going to be easy to fulfill for my UCC requirement. Ended up being the hardest class i've had! Very work intensive. He points you out so you have to be on point and treats the class as if we are in highschool.

Prof Marshall's class was the easiest class I've ever taken at WPU. He gives you 5 papers to write but only accepts the best 4. He doesn't really give out quizzes on readings and makes you do one group presentation. The theories are a bit difficult to understand, but he spends 2 weeks on each, so its nbd. Talk in discussions and you'll have an A.

This is a class you will absolutely learn in. He makes you work for your grade, so if you're a slacker who sits in class oblivious to the discussion then don't even waste your time. He loves discussions! If you can create a debate around a topic you'll be on his good side all semester. Take this guy if you want to make use of your college career.

This class is difficult, but you will learn a lot from it. You have to care about english and you have to care about the world around you in order to follow the class. It is interesting if you participate. If you like to sit in class and coast along like a nobody, then it's not for you. Oh, and if you have no opinions, it's not for you.

Incredible professor. Absolutely brilliant. He changed my life. If you open your mind and try to understand what he is talking about, you will change, too. Do not be intimidated or confused or scared. Forget about grades and focus on learning. You will automatically do well. Quote: There is a rhetoric to everything around you.

you do a lot of work, so if you don't like working, don't take him, but i loved the class. Yes there's a lot of work, and participation is key, but he is an awesome professor. Very helpful and willing to help and I got an A.

I will delay graduation if it means taking another course taught by this man. Group discussions in my critical writing class were out of control, a free for all about who knows what. He was more interested in the topic of a paper than how it was written. if one of his former students are in the class, you're going to listen to them talk a lot

He is a very good professor. But if you're a slacker don't take him. He will work you. we will have a least four papers and alot of deep reading. English is this man's life and he expects it to be yours to, however you will learn a great deal about life in his course, which has helped in my other courses as well.
