Barely attended class and read the book extensively. It seemed that what I learned in class did not prepare me for the quizzes and tests. If you want to pass this class best try your best to understand convolution visually. In fact everything visually. Great guy though.

I took him for Signals. I like him, but the class was difficult. He didn't spend enough time on Fourier series & transforms. His MATLAB project are a real pain in the ass. Decent teacher, but make sure you have a group to study & do homework with.

How can i say this mmm he sucks, his tests are impossible and he is married with matlab. His hw and tests have nothing even slightly similar. He screws u on the project grade at the end. he only cares about the test grades and nothing else. HE wants to challenge you but he thinks we are all egg heads like him. stay away from that man, be ware.

He is a nice guy but a horrible teacher. Do not expect to learn anything, the book is useless and so are the lectures. Rediculuous MATLAB projects. HW is a nightmare with out solutions manual. Stay away from this guy. Lots of D's and F's.

what we learned class was not too bad, and all would be well and good if that was what he gave for hw and what he put on tests, but he puts random hard f-ing questions on the test, and the hw takes forever just to understand one question. His project was easy but the tests and hw are way too hard and you never do anything remotely like it in class

Considering the level of degree the comp. projects are, and the exams. ITS DIFFICULT! Howitt does have office hours and does try to explain but seems more interested in his research than his students. ECGR majors need this course this is a warning to buckle down and study if you have this course.

Very hard course. Dr. Howitt is a great professor though. His lectures are precise, with great explanations. Tests are impossible if you don't do homework. If you seek help outside of class, he's very willing to explain things.
