Apppalled by his pompus teaching style. I felt as though his comments about my work always had undertones of belittlement, but in a joyful sort of way, this guy really loves to make ppl feel stupid. Great teaching skills, BTW I see he is no longer @ SMC. This class deepended my love for Chopin and others, but Turner had nothing to do with this.

After reading the comments, I was scared to take him. I worked very hard in his class and found him interesting. Nevertheless, he killed my 4.0 gpa for no reason whatsoever. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

I asked him for help numerous times and got very cynical responses. very hard grader. Did EVERY assignment, and could still fail the class. Average 4 lessons/quizzes per week + several large assignments due. NOT recommended.

This professor ruined my 4.0 with his incompetent grading and incoherent instructions/comments. In each assignment I submitted he would comment that I missed certain points (which I then had to point out were in there). He expects for assignment 1 that you can already identify specific instruments by ear. Take this class with a different professor!

He is an old man how really seems to dislike teaching and it shows through his class. He makes you work hard and dosen't like helping you much. He likes getting in and out of class FAST. He is the only teacher for music 2 so GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!
