Disorganized beyond belief. Lots of homework which is graded for accuracy. Corrections are required if you do poorly on hw, which further increases the workload. If you do not follow directions, you can't correct...but her directions are very hard to follow. I go to a tutor twice a week, do extra hw, have perfect attendance, and I still might drop.

She is Swiss. Speaks 4 languages. Gives a lot of work. Gives extra credit. She can be a little chaotic with communication on bb but you just have to read deep. Had us write down what was working and what wasn't and changed the way she was teaching!! Bottom line: Great teacher. Shes Tough, but you'll have a great foundation!!

Very nice and sweet but her classes aren't very structured. It's easy to fall behind and get lost. Be prepared to study far more than she requires b/c you'll need it to keep up with her teaching style. I'm studying my butt off and still occasionally feel lost in her class.

She assigns quite a bit of work, but it is mostly very easy and she doesn't grade too harshly. As long as you make sure you keep up with it you'll be fine. Also, sometimes there is miscommunication, so you really have to pay attention. However, I really learned a whole lot in this class and she is really a nice person who wants you to succeed!

Worst Prof I've ever taken at VCU. She is unorganized, she assumes everyone speaks fluent french, and grades like crazy. Her Homework is ridiculous in both amounts assigned, and how she grades. Absolutely awful. She stressed me out all semester, and I probably have anxiety now because of her. Don't take her unless you absolutely have to. WORST

I've never had such a difficult time communicating with a prof & I've taken French for 6 yrs. She certainly chooses favorites; homework is harshly graded; quizzes are frequent & timed (you recieve VERY little time) so if you aren't someone who can regurgitate quickly, don't take her. She ignored my requests for help; I dropped out VERY frustrated.

If you try hard in her class, make it seem like you care even a little, she will reward you. She's a really really nice person who really really cares for her students. But she is a hard teacher, speaks A LOT of French in the class and assigns a BUTTLOAD of homework. But she's really nice.

She's all over the place. LOTS of h/w-it helps! But the directions are NOT clear about 80% of the time in the assignment. The only thing I dread is being called on because she will start talking in French without anyone knowing what's going on. Sweet lady though. Warning: when she says '1 minute left' on quizzes, it really means 10 seconds!

She's such a sweet little lady. If the class is not doing well on something, she will go back over it until everyone's on the same page. Very fair grader but she assigns a ton of homework. Lots of online stuff, too that are due before tests. If you're new to French and want to pass, be prepared to spend a lot of time studying and doing homework.

She's adorable- very petite and extremely animated. Most of the time I had no idea what she was saying, but the tests aren't difficult because of the massive extra credit (even on the final). She's Swiss- bring it up and she'll get really excited.

Her class is probably torture for the non-french major, but an excellent preparation for anyone planning on continuing with higher level french classes. She can be picky about homework assignments and gives a ton of them, but in the end I believe she truly cares that her students learn and is a very fair grader. Still, be prepared to work.

She was and okay teacher, her grading was somewhat hard and her teaching style was lacking. You really needed to have taken French prior to the 101 class to be able to keep up. There were a lot of students that dropped the class and became friendlier by the end of the class. She insisted we number out worksheet and keep them in order.?

The french teacher I've ever had. If she was hard, it was because you didn't pay attention. Did like to speak french as much as she could, but did not restrict the class to it. She was happy to work with you, and to find help for you when necessary.

I agree very hard to get up in the morning for her class. So unorganized that I could not keep up with my grade. WAY too much homework and grades in a screwy way (whatever she feels like). Rarely clear. French is my native language, always got A's, she gave me my first C. Has teacher's pets treats others unfairly.

I have no idea what my grade is because she doesn't either. I have no idea how many homeworks I've missed because I never understand what she has assigned - even when I write it in English. This class made it difficult to get up in the morning.

Yes she does assign alot of homework, but for the most part it is easy work. She's not always completely clear in class, however she is extremely fair. She allows you to correct all of your test for extra points and gives partial credit. Most teachers count off full credit even if you mess up the gender of the word.
