Let me just say this is a guy you either love or hate. He is loud, quite obnoxious, and altogether unprofessional in my opinion. However, other students might find humor in that. One major thing I left the class for... Twitter. No school assignments should require twitter. Schools should not be butting in our social media or private lives.

DeRochi is a very challenging professor. I came into the class loving British Lit and left not liking it nearly as much, which is not a good thing. He is VERY big on the historical context of the literature... even more than the literature itself.

Very difficult and disorganized. He seems to have a hard time grading papers, it takes him forever to return them. (I don't think he even read most of our assignments.) And he grades harshly. The classes were sometimes fun and entertaining, but be careful if you chose to take his class.

WORST PROF. EVER! He's a terrible grader in the sense that he doesn't read your papers fully, he just slaps a crappy grade on it to see who will fight for what they truly deserved. He's extremely immature and obnoxious and makes crude comments with extremely foul language. He's not profession at all. I don't recommend ANYONE to take his class.

One of the best profs I've had - extremely intelligent, passionate, & entertaining. Goes off topic, takes forever to grade, & is challenging, but he really cares and is willing to help. If you don't do the reading, you won't do well, but I consider that a plus in a lit class! He's not for everyone, but if you want to learn you will. Also quite hot.

So he is a fantastic and funny guy. I don't think I ever really stopped laughing (until I got grades back). When he assigns papers, he isn't very clear about what he wants and grades rather harshly. He also had some problems following through with our schedule. Be sure to seek his input before you turn anything in. I should have done that.

This guy is the absolute worst. Anyone who likes him is an extreme suckup. He should not be allowed to teach (or vote). I beg you not to take him, he is very hard for no reason at all. You can't tell him anything. He is always right. (figuratively) not politically. Ugh, he's aweful. aweful. the other comments about how bad he is are correct!

Worst teacher I ever had at any college at any level for any course. He made fun of many of my relatives for working in conservative fields of study. His far-left political beliefs interfere with true critical thinking and learning, as well as inhibit my ability to keep sane.

Dr. DeRochi is pretty amazing. His class is extremely interesting. His tests are a little hard, but if you study well enough for them do the readings and pay attention in class you'll do fine. DeRochi is always there to help. As he says, "Its all about the love."

This is the worst professor I have had at Winthrop. He is sarcastic and arrogant. Granted he knows his topic;however, he is so filled with self righteousness that nothing you do will ever satisfy him. If you like to sit in a class and be judged by a foul-mouthed egomaniac then DeRochi is your man. I say stay away!

Next to Jason Silverman, Jack DeRochi is the best professor at Winthrop. He really knows his stuff and always made class interesting and fun. I thoroughly enjoyed every class and even though he may grade tough, he always appreciates hard work. He was always willing to help ouside of class and is super HOT to look at which is just an added bonus.

Dr. Derochi is amazing! He makes class so interesting and he really has a passion for what he teaches. If you show him that you care about his class and if you do your work to the best of your ability, DeRochi will have your back even after you've finished his class. He is a very sweet, intelligent, HOTT professor!! Take him if you get the chance!

Bizarre class. We had some very serious discussions, then we'd have classes where all we did was listen to his life story and laugh. Very arrogant, which is annoying. Didn't give back papers on time and was always assigning long & time-consuming research projects. I didn't learn one thing from that class.

All I can say is WTF? The class was totally amusing.We laughed a whole lot until it was time for work to be handed in. He appears to be clear about what he is asking for, but in more ways than one he is unclear. we never got our assignments back on time. He assigned work on top of work, before we even knew what we previously made.He grades too hard
