Comment:

I honestly stopped going to class because she would always go off on irrelevant tangents. Therefore, we would fall behind on the schedule so she always ended up excluding certain materials from the exams. You don't even really need to attend class if you paid attention to the handouts and did the readings from the textbook.

Comment:

She constantly gets off topic but the stuff she says is usually interesting. If you're an English or Communication major, you'll most likely find her class VERY boring, because it is quite literally an INTRODUCTION to literature and its concepts. If you passed high school English, which if you're in college, you most likely did, you'll be fine.

Love this lady! She is hilarious! Lectures were so interesting, even when we were on topic! The stories we read in class were actually good. I learned so much in this class, and I thought originally it was going to be boring. You have to read when she tells you to, and read the stories more than once. Participate in class as well!

She is a pretty good professor. Most of the class relies on the book, so it's not always 100% necessary to go to class as long as you do the reading and understand. She does go off on tangents all the time- sometimes it's interesting but sometimes it's annoying. She's very funny and has good stories. I'd recommend taking her.

I took her for Intro to Lit. I love literature, but everything we seemed to read was SUPER depressing. She also goes off on tangents alot during class, so it's hard to WANT to go to class. She also talks about Bob Dylan excessively; his songs are on her tests. She's cool. If you have a hard time with Lit, I wouldn't take her.

Very easy class. No essays and good test revs. Can be hard to sit through class, and she sometimes criticizes students. Just listen to what she says about lit. Avoid repeating anything she says about life lessons or "facts" unless you want to look stupid. ex, "there is no word in English for man hater." word is Misandry

Very interesting teacher. She keeps class interesting, so its not hard to pay attention. She reviews constantly so as long as you go to class you shouldn't have a problem. Her personality can sometimes be offensive (she's very politically opinionated) but when it comes to the work load and grades, I'd recommend her.

Average class. Follow outlines and readings and expect a high grade. Review sessions are REALLY helpful.Class seems pointless but good to go to and stay informed.It was hard not to doze off or zone out because she jumps from one subject to another.

She is very straightforward- she puts outlines on Blackboard and if your read and pay attention you'll get an A. I would recommend her- it's easy but it's not a blow off class- you do have to attend and read (I never studied for a test but I went to every class and read and I have an A). She's funny too- I mean who else would teach about Bob Dylan?

Took her for ENG 2013 (Intro to Lit) during the Summer term. Grades were based on 5 Exams, she drops the lowest, 25% each. Exams covered the lecture material and assigned readings. Overall class was pretty interesting and I learned more about the subject. She loves Bob Dylan. I would recommend taking her class.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR...SHE EXTREMELY UNCLEAR ON WHAT SHE WANTS FROM HER STUDENTS, she grades extremely hard and is not consistent on grading your papers. She has her favorites in class and those are the people that make 100's on papers. STAY AWAY

Use of Textbook-high. Attendance Mandatory?-no, actually, teach yourself. Extra credit-no. Exams-50Q multiple choice (weird for a LIT class). Like other people have said, she will cancel class unexpectedly, but not much is lost. Follow the syllabus, read the stories she assigns and go to the class before the test for a review. I made a C.

AVOID!! This prof grades waay too hard, i spent 4 good days on one paper, went to the writing center for editing, even had my parents edit it, and could not manage anything above a 70. Class is easy, all you do is sit in groups doing absolutely nothing. She allows no more than 4 absences as well when ironically SHE is the most absent one. DONT TAKE

Her class is fairly simple. The majority of it covers things that I learned back in high school. She has a tendency to cancel class a lot, and when she does show up, she is typically late. Tests aren't difficult, they just require a knowledge of the required readings. Overall, a good professor. I would recommend her.

She NEVER goes to class and doesnt teach. Its an absolute waste of money. She has favorites and will fail if you doesnt like you. She also smells bad and is extremely rude and does not help her students. DONT TAKE HER!!!!

Shes ok. She canceled A LOT, sometimes without even telling us and left us sitting there. She was also late when she did show up. I admit I did learn a lot WHEN SHE SHOWED UP. Tests are not that easy. They are extremly tricky. I actually spoke with her once and she was rude. Don't skip her class.

She cancelled alot or did not show up. Complained of always being sick or her cat(s) dies. Smells very strongy of smoke. Grades super hard. She def has favorites. I overheard a guy saying he BS his paper and didnt write a conclusion & she gave him an "A" but for me a well written essay she gave me a "c" Dont waste your money.
