Worst professor I have ever had. He's awful! He isn't helpful, and his tests are extremely hard! He's not the least bit helpful in anything. And, on top of all that, there are zero study guides and he assigns 10-15 page papers on vague topics.

I've had Dr. Aucoin for more classes than I count. You will hear that he is dry & hard to engage at times. But if you care about the work and pay him due respect, he is a phenomenal instructor. Easily one of the best I've had. He is always willing to sit down and answer questions, and I'm still learning even after graduation. Worth any and all work

He is dry w/ his lectures. His tests are beasts and he doesn't do much to help prepare u for them. No study guides or narrowing down the info to focus on or anything. He gives a 10pg paper due at the end of the semester! He's nice but not a good teacher

Tests were extemely difficult to pass. He said it was hard to make a "C" in his class. He does not give extra credit to help you do well to pass his class. He lectures on the material that's suppose to be on the test and gives practice tests on the computer. But once you get the test it does not reflect what he told you to study SUCKS!

Dr. Aucoin is just cool. Everything the man does is suave. More importantly than that, though, he's very intelligent but still grounded and humble. Very helpful and takes pride in his work.

I took the web class. His test are impossible! I read the book and his lecture notes and still had to google almost every question. Way to difficult for a 100 level class, and I usually make all A's.

History of Mass Media - great subject for a class that may be taken as either a History class or Communication class. Dr. Aucoin takes his test mainly from the Powerpoint slides that he teaches from in class--probably 10% of the test comes from the reading. Be forewarned: he's rather monotone and will make you fall asleep, so pay attention!

Dr. Aucoin is one of my favorite professors because he treats his students like adults and expects them to ACT like adults. Instead of just getting his opinion on your work, you hear from everyone in the class. The class is a lot of work, but so is a career in journalism. Aucoin really makes sure journalism students know what they're getting into.

I've had Dr. Aucoin for 3 comm classes and he is an exceptional instructor. He's easily among the most qualified and the most intelligent in the Comm department. And on top of that, he actually gives a hoot about his students. His classes are not necessarily easy, but he's patient and extremely helpful. Simply, he's an amazing professor.

Dr. Aucouin is a great teacher. His tests are really tough, but they are fair.. Matching, MultiChoice, and T/F.. it's the matching that sucks - know EVERY single name he ever drops in class. Class can get a little boring, but he's very responsive when the class shows interest and allows for interesting discussion. Had the mini-mester..loved it!

Go to class and do your work! You guys are lucky to have him at USA. It's a mixed class and as a graduate student, I thought he was VERY easy on the undergraduates. The amount of complaining correlated with the amount of disrespect (talking, surfing the internet etc.) while he lectured. Instead of ****ing and griping, try reading and studying.

That class sucked. It's good if you can remember an assload of facts, but i have trouble with that and did terrible on every test. Great teacher as far as knowing stuff and answering questions, but the material itself was boring and difficult for me to remember.
