Prof Austin is awesome! He is so nice and friendly and is always there for you if you have questions or concerns. He is very straightforward about what will be on the tests so there are no tricks! He understands how college kids are busy, unlike some professors, and assigns homework and essays accordingly. Would highly recommend this professor.

Really nice guy who probably does care - but he seems to have a hard time connecting with students. Our class of 9 or so didn't bond at all. It was kind of sad. Handwriting and French are dreadful obstacles. You'd think as an American he'd work really hard at getting that stuff down. But by the end of the semester, it's much easier.

I took this class freshman year and although I was interested in the subject I came out not too big a fan of Austin (his French is a bit odd, unclear sometimes, often boring). I feel differently now, however. I realized I learned A LOT and he's really understanding with assignments. Also a really thorough grader. Taking more classes with him.

Although his handwriting at first seems like sanskrit, you'll eventually learn to decipher it. I love this man. He comes up with great lesson plans and doesn't focus too much on the terrible textbook that the French department supports (French for Oral and Written Review).

Have only taken this class for 2 weeks so far, but the movies are interesting and the discussions are pretty good. He talks a bit too fast, esp. if I hadn't gone abroad, I wouldn't understand what he was saying. He is very attractive, and quite young, but he is very professional, loves the movies.

He's a sweet guy and fun to talk to at the French table. His French is phenomenal and he does have lovely blue eyes. But in class he speaks too fast and he gives us boring articles to read on his "site web."
